So can I just request to talk to a supervisor over the phone? Or is there some sort of process I have to go through? Just got a checklist (AOS) that said we didn't include 2013 tax information. However, I had included the 2013 tax extension request and had added in a sticky note on the i-864 to draw attention to it. (Other part of the checklist is a little more complicated: I originally had submitted 1 i-864 including both my husband and step-daughter. I learned through a FB group a week later that I should have done 2 separate forms. So I resent a second form for my step-daughter. I'm hoping that a supervisor can help me figure out if I just need to wait until they find that second form which was sent 3 weeks later, or if I should resend 2 separate forms right away).

At this point your tax extension will be coming due. So they may close your case without the 2013 tax return but it will likely be required at interview. Remember you can always amend your taxes later. You also need to include some proof that you hae the tax extension.

To speak to a supervisor you have to just ask to speak to one. Call between 7am and 5pm IMHO, because they actually are government employees (unlike the call center employees) and likely work more typical government hours.

Thanks for your response. I actually have filed for 2013 now, I just hadn't 60 days ago. I guess I'll call and see if a supervisor can be of any help.

Thanks a ton for the quick reply. Another small hing that I wanted to confirm was Birth Certificate. Can i send 10th class passing certificate or do I have to send the original birth certificate? In case of latter, I may have to get it translated to English as the particulars have been filled in Hindi . Please advise.

You have to send original / certified birth cert and also the translation. 10th class passing certificate will not do as it will be rejected

Yes, petitioner documents are required. But only for IR-5 visa applicants. If you're applying for your spouse (IR-1/CR-1), then they're not applicable.

Woo, congrats!! :dancing:

Thanks Saylin!

So I am wondering if there is a way to post a message to all people who have registered the immigrating spouse country as Tanzania, Singapore, and UK? I can see a list of people who are registered, but have no way of knowing who is "active" and emailing one-by one is not an option. I know I can access the Swedish forum since that is my husband's country. The reason being...we need a Police Certificate from each of these countries and I am trying to figure out how best to get them in the quickest possible time since we are already in NVC process...of course local knowledge or contact would be helpful. Thank you so much for this forum!

This process has me question, whether the man I married ever really did love me. HE SAID - If you get one more checklist, you can go ahead and close the process with NVC. I said, then what's next because when you say that - it seems as if you are saying nothing other than that you don't want me because I am not moving to your area. That's your perception he said - THANKS NVC FOR SLOWLY DESTROYING OUR MARRIAGE!

I hope so, mine were too. I was able to squeeze the case number and stuff above their stamp, so that's what I did.

You can access every regional forum. Also check on the reciprocity table on how to acquire the police certificates from those other countries. That's actually the best place to look as sometimes police reports are not available to people who no longer live in that country. Also how you get a police certificate will most likely be different than how you would get one from inside the country.
