Yes. 15 days. Let's hope I will be able to countdown as well - however, remember he said *around* which for the NVC could mean the next day or an additional 30 :huh:

P.S. still not able to access the site - weird. Need to check some other computers around the house and phones. Crazy that we'd be hopeful that they are fixing something to make it work easier.

12/30/2012: Got engaged.
1/16/2013: Got married in India.

I-130:
2/28/2013: Attorney mailed the I-130 from a U.S. address.
3/4/2013: Priority date, NOA1.
11/6/2013: Case was transferred to Nebraska Service Center.

1/6/2014: 60 days of transfer are up, put in an e-request, given 30 days' time. Contacted the senator. Senator asked to wait till Feb 6 and if nothing then she will do something.
2/5/2014: Website status changed to RFE.
2/10/2014: Attorney gets RFE. They need G325A and photos of both me and husband, original marriage certificate, copy of marriage record and it's translation.
2/15/2014: Mailed the requisite documents to husband.
2/19/2014: Documents received by husband.
2/24/2014: RFE mailed.
2/26/2014: Case status changed to RFE review.
3/6/2014: After 367 days, NOA2.

After approval kept calling NVC but NVC always had one reply, file was not in their system. Husband too called USCIS National Customer Service Center and was told case was sent to NVC.
4/2/2014: Write to NSCFollowup to know about the status of the petition.
4/10/2014: Put in a ?service request with USCIS starting with OVP to locate case.
4/16/2014: Reply from NSCFollowup that the U.S. law prohibited that office from responding to anyone other than the petitioner and to have the petitioner contact them.
4/18/2014: Sent email to NVC Research to locate the case.
4/22/2014: Petitioner sent email to NSCFollowup
5/14/2014: Receive email from NVC Research that they do not have a record of receiving the petition.
5/16/2014: Congressman's immigration caseworker contacted supervisor at NSC who said the petition is pending and will be dispatched in two weeks.
5/27/2014: Petitioner received response from NSCFollowup that the case was pending an internal extended review. Really?
6/19/2014: USCIS case status change, "On June 19, 2014, we shipped this case..."
7/1/2014: Case received at NVC.
7/14/2014: NVC case number assigned.

I just received an email saying to wait 2-4 weeks for a case complete!

YAYYY WE GOT A LETTER STATING THAT ALL OUR DOCUMENTS WERE RECEIVED AND REVIEWED THAT WE ONLY HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE MEDICAL APPT AND INTERVIEW LETTER ! my husband and i BEEN thru though time this week i thought it was over ! this has been a long 2 years waiting hope i can be with him soon! how long will it take till i get that interview letter??

Congratulations. I think you will get the interview letter when they schedule an interview.

Hi All,

CASE COMPLETE

I called and talked to Ariel because I can't seem to access the CEAC site.

After waiting on hold for 50 minutes Ariel asked for my details. Then she asked what she could do to help. I said that I was just calling for my weekly call. She started to say something and then said as of today they were finished with our case and that they would let us know when our interview was scheduled.

Whoopie!!!!!

We did EP and it looks like they looked at everything at once.

our AOS was e-mailed AUG 4 and our IV on AUG 29. I had scan dates of AUG 6 and Sept 4 but a 60 day notice dated Aug 28.

Thanks all for your help. Saylin you are the greatest

oh my gosh!!!! Congrats first of all and second our timeline is so similar aaaaaaahg. I've been trying to stay calm and not worry and wait to call them October 7th since that's the 60 days since AOS but oh my gosh. Aaah congrats again really!

Hi Fellow Petitioners,

I have been in the NVC processing phase of my visa journey. We are supposed to send the IV packet and I had a few questions regarding it,if anyone could address it. The visa website (http://travel.state...._documents.html) States that one must obtain the original or certified documents - be it birth certificate or police clearance or marriage certificate. This is a little confusing to me and my husband as we are following the process on our own without an attorney. Does it mean that we have to submit the original documents ? What does 'certified copies' mean here? Does it mean that I get my documents attested or certified by a gazetted officer? Also, the link above states that :

Important: If we asked for an original or certified copy you must send the actual original or certified copy of the document to the NVC. You cannot submit a photocopy or a notarized photocopy as this will delay your case.

This confuses me a lot more as I am in India and my husband is in US. Does this mean that I have to mail original documents to him to complete the IV packet to be sent to NVC? I hope, if this is what I am supposed to do, will I not require thee original documents during my interview? Or will I get these original documents back?

Hi Everyone... I have question hope someone can answer.. when we gonna start counting 60 days? the day they scanned our packages or the day they receive our package? My husband send my IV docs last August 7 and NVC receive last August 8 but they scanned it August 12... Thanx in Advance..

hi, we have almost same dates. Husband sent our packages on August 6, NVC received on August 7, scanned into the system on August 8. We got 60-day email from NVC on September 20 and it said they got our documents on August 7 and to allow 60 days for them to be processed. They started the countdown when they received according to the letter, but when I had called long back the phone rep told me my 60 days started when documents were scanned in. Either way, it's just a difference of a day.

Hi Fellow Petitioners,

I have been in the NVC processing phase of my visa journey. We are supposed to send the IV packet and I had a few questions regarding it,if anyone could address it. The visa website (http://travel.state...._documents.html) States that one must obtain the original or certified documents - be it birth certificate or police clearance or marriage certificate. This is a little confusing to me and my husband as we are following the process on our own without an attorney. Does it mean that we have to submit the original documents ? What does 'certified copies' mean here? Does it mean that I get my documents attested or certified by a gazetted officer? Also, the link above states that :

Important: If we asked for an original or certified copy you must send the actual original or certified copy of the document to the NVC. You cannot submit a photocopy or a notarized photocopy as this will delay your case.

This confuses me a lot more as I am in India and my husband is in US. Does this mean that I have to mail original documents to him to complete the IV packet to be sent to NVC? I hope, if this is what I am supposed to do, will I not require thee original documents during my interview? Or will I get these original documents back?

hi fellow Indian, yes you have to send originals to your husband to send to NVC and you will get them back at interview hopefully if NVC has not misplaced them. To avoid NVC misplacing them write your case number with pencil on top right corner of your originals or use non adhesive labels. Also, certified doesn't mean notarized or attested. As another member suggested, it is an original reissue.

12/30/2012: Got engaged.
1/16/2013: Got married in India.

I-130:
2/28/2013: Attorney mailed the I-130 from a U.S. address.
3/4/2013: Priority date, NOA1.
11/6/2013: Case was transferred to Nebraska Service Center.

1/6/2014: 60 days of transfer are up, put in an e-request, given 30 days' time. Contacted the senator. Senator asked to wait till Feb 6 and if nothing then she will do something.
2/5/2014: Website status changed to RFE.
2/10/2014: Attorney gets RFE. They need G325A and photos of both me and husband, original marriage certificate, copy of marriage record and it's translation.
2/15/2014: Mailed the requisite documents to husband.
2/19/2014: Documents received by husband.
2/24/2014: RFE mailed.
2/26/2014: Case status changed to RFE review.
3/6/2014: After 367 days, NOA2.

After approval kept calling NVC but NVC always had one reply, file was not in their system. Husband too called USCIS National Customer Service Center and was told case was sent to NVC.
4/2/2014: Write to NSCFollowup to know about the status of the petition.
4/10/2014: Put in a ?service request with USCIS starting with OVP to locate case.
4/16/2014: Reply from NSCFollowup that the U.S. law prohibited that office from responding to anyone other than the petitioner and to have the petitioner contact them.
4/18/2014: Sent email to NVC Research to locate the case.
4/22/2014: Petitioner sent email to NSCFollowup
5/14/2014: Receive email from NVC Research that they do not have a record of receiving the petition.
5/16/2014: Congressman's immigration caseworker contacted supervisor at NSC who said the petition is pending and will be dispatched in two weeks.
5/27/2014: Petitioner received response from NSCFollowup that the case was pending an internal extended review. Really?
6/19/2014: USCIS case status change, "On June 19, 2014, we shipped this case..."
7/1/2014: Case received at NVC.
7/14/2014: NVC case number assigned.
8/1/2014: AOS and IV fees invoiced.
8/2/2014: AOS and IV fees paid.
8/5/2014: AOS and IV fees status changed to paid.
8/6/2014: AOS and IV packages mailed, completed and submitted DS-260.
8/7/2014: AOS and IV packages delivered to NVC.
8/8/2014: AOS and IV packages put into the system (scanned).
9/20/2014: Get the 60-day email.
9/30/2014: Case Complete!
10/3/2014: Interview scheduled for November 7.
10/20/2014: Medical appointment.

11/07/2014: Interview.

11/29/2014: POE JFK.

Thank you Dilmera.. someone told me they start 60 days the day they received our package that's why I'm totally confused.. I'm really hoping for November interview since accrdng to others NVC have cut of October 10 to give November interview..

Called. Heck pushed it down to the very last second, eh. Anyways Ariel answered and she told me when they got our documents, September 12 and August 8 like I knew, but that to keep an eye on my email. She was a nice lady haha. Ohwhale. Worth a shot, eh?

Just wow! Did you have a lawyer? And now they are sending out 2-4 week emails for the new process.

Hey dilmera, yes we do have a lawyer, I called the nvc on 9/15 they told me by wed you will have your case nu, ber all that, thelawyer call us really early that , omorning and my hubby paid roght away so that day afternoon show paid. Since we have the lawyer we get the 2 fees at the same time, and everything else came quickly, I received an email saying 2-4 weeks, then another one that said 30 days. I am praying we dot get the 60 one, I wanna be there for xmas. I checked ypur timeline I am sorry you have to wait this long, I will pray u get there faster than me. We all deserve our happily ever after! Good luck :)

Thanks a ton for the quick reply. Another small hing that I wanted to confirm was Birth Certificate. Can i send 10th class passing certificate or do I have to send the original birth certificate? In case of latter, I may have to get it translated to English as the particulars have been filled in Hindi . Please advise.

Ok so I'm freaking out because my wife whom I'm sponsoring just sent me all her docs, all is good there, but I just now noticed that in one of the things on the list of items I need to send to NVC says "petitioner documents". What exactly does this mean? I'was born there in the Dominican Republic, and if they want my birth certificate it'll cost me another $55 to send this way from there plus however much to get it. Can anyone elaborate for me? I did call NVC yesterday and they said her bc is what's needed, but I don't want mistakes to get a checklist.

Yes, petitioner documents are required. But only for IR-5 visa applicants. If you're applying for your spouse (IR-1/CR-1), then they're not applicable.

CASE COMPLETE

I called and talked to Ariel because I can't seem to access the CEAC site.

After waiting on hold for 50 minutes Ariel asked for my details. Then she asked what she could do to help. I said that I was just calling for my weekly call. She started to say something and then said as of today they were finished with our case and that they would let us know when our interview was scheduled.

Whoopie!!!!!

We did EP and it looks like they looked at everything at once.

our AOS was e-mailed AUG 4 and our IV on AUG 29. I had scan dates of AUG 6 and Sept 4 but a 60 day notice dated Aug 28.
