I FINALLY got through to NVC after trying two days in a row.

I rang to find out if my DS-261 has been accepted, the lady took my email address and said she will submit it now as she has spoken to me, I asked when the IV fee will be available and she said some time next week but couldn't specify a date.

Fingers crossed!!

Hey all! I have a question for computer saavy VJers, and maybe Ms Saylin if she's about...I am finalizing all my docs to go to NVC (doing EP). The scans I have are kind of large, and I would rather not re-scan them as I don't have handy access to a scanner. I need to compress some of them. Any suggestions on the best way to do this? Does it matter whether the docs are PDF or Word docs? Also, will NVC accept zip files? I can't remember if I read that they don't.

My biggest hurdle is my military records. I served way back when all records were on paper. When I sent for my military records from Ottawa, I received a CD containing 309 page PDF document, in excess of 44,700kb of data. I am trying to do what I can without having to put out more $$ in software programs (I have Adobe Reader, but not full Acrobat).

Any help from the gurus here will be greatly appreciated! :)

So I was able to pay the AOS fee yesterday. And as we get closer...we found out a potentially BIG problem re: Police Certificates. My Swedish hubby worked for a large Swedish Corp for 15 years, in that time they sent him around the world on projects. We didn't even realize that we may need PC from any country but Sweden- where he has maintained the same address- and in Sweden they issue ONE police certificate from the main Swedish headquarters. However, we realize now we may get a checklist if we don't have PC from the UK (London) Singapore, and... wait for it...Tanzania Dar-es- Salaam (arghhhhhh). This means a trip to Tanzania? Impossible really.

My question: what is the forums experience with the PC? Are they real picky about this? Could we bring PC to interview? Would a letter from his employer help vouching that he never was arrested while employed by them?

This feels insurmountable now. We were feeling happy yesterday as the process was finally "moving" after being stuck at USCIS for 8 months...and we haven't seen each other in 4 months. I know- preaching to the choir here...but this sucks. I did look into the whole process before...but the thing about the PC never jumped out at me...I thought just home country was needed. HELP!

Can't help with the file size... still trying to figure out how to make mine smaller. But if it helps... I am only sending pdf docs, and can only imagine I won't be able to send just one email with all the attachments.

Don't you have a copy of your MPRR from your release? That (and a scan of my certificate of service for good measure) is all I am including....

Trust, but verify!

See the following http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/submit/documents-scanning-faqs.html on Submitting Documents to NVC via Email.

Also each attachment/email should be less then 5MB

"Scan and email your financial forms and evidence, supporting documents, and translations to nvcelectronic@state.gov. Please place your case number in the subject line of the email and keep your attachments below five megabytes (MB). If you have more than one case, use a different email message for each case. For more information, review our Document Scanning FAQs."

Have you received an email or info letting you know they have received your documents?

Mine were delivered on 24th too so I am trying to find out also.

I sent my IV package in on Sep 23rd, received Sep 24th (via FedEx), and got the email this morning (Sep 26th) saying they received the IV package and 60 days etc. For my AOS package, it took well over a month and a half before I received the 60 notice, so not sure what that means.
