If you're filing for F2A then your husband does not need to be a US Citizen, however for India the priority date they're processing right now is 01JAN13.

Since in your signature you mention that your husband filed N400 already, it might be quicker to wait until he becomes a USC and then file for CR1/IR1 visa.

Thanks for your reply.

But I am not asking about when to file I130. If you go through my signature then you can see we filed already and also got approved. My question is about whether NVC will process my case untill CC and then I have to wait for visa number or whether NVC will put my case on hold untill the pd is current.

I thought NVC completes the case under F2A category and puts it on waiting if priority date is not current before sending the completed case to the local consulate.

Can anyone clarify please? Saylin can you please?

Sorry, I don't know anything about the F2A visa process. I thought the same as you, that you can essentially get a case complete but then be stuck waiting in the interview queue until the PD became current. But, I don't follow the F2A process, so who knows, it could have changed. You can try calling NVC and speaking with a supervisor about it. Or look in the appropriate forum here on VJ as this one technically is for IR-1/CR-1 visas (even though your NVC process is practically the same, minus the waiting part for PD to become current).

The fee receipt for either bill is not needed by NVC. Please read their official website on what is needed. A glance at post 1 wouldn't hurt either ;)

I know what you mean, its international for me too and then there is a wait of 45 mins at least, it kills you. download google hangout on your phone, it lets you call US & Canada free.

And yeah they say 60 days to review DS 261 and they had mine for a little under 30 days, but when I called the rep asked me who would I want as my agent and I had my petitioner down as my agent, so he was like OK now that you have given me those details I can actually manually process that and you will get the IV invoice in 5 days and then DS 260 will be available once I pay the fees. Definitely worth calling.

Hi, have you received the IV invoice? I was told the same thing when i called. Rep asked me to hold on a minute as if doing something, then told me i should receive it within 5 days.

So here's my deal: I am waiting for my IV fees to be invoiced before sending out the papers (I'm totally scared of any checklist and would prefer to have something paid for before they think about looking at it) - plus I have to wait for the PCC to come from the consulate which could (lovely) take up to 3 weeks to receive it (we had originally thought that our police certificate clearance before we left India would work but after calling and checking with a couple of reps it seems we must get a new one from the embassy ::blerg:: :clock:

So me being in this predicament and seeing the time it is taking for IV fees to get invoiced (which according to the reps I've spoken to is based on your DS-261 being processed into their systems) Do you think I should send the AOS documents first to the NVC or just wait the 3 weeks until the PCC comes and send the whole package together - Is there any benefit and would they mark my first scan date of my AOS as my scan date and start on my review once the IV gets sent?
