The issue in question was that If the beneficiary is issued A number or not, during the USCIS I-130 process or not and if the beneficiary 's A NUBMER IS ASKED TO WRITE in I-864 for PART 2 OTHER INFORMATION ITEM#5, ,SHOULD WE IGNORE IT? Some has good luck if NVC did not pay attention on it.

My beneficiary never entered USA , never applied for green card before and never been in deportation or removal proceedure, and I wrote the A number in I-864; I did have any check list notice and if is approved !!!!

This a common practice for USCIS to issue A NUMBER at THE TIME OF I-130 when approval is granted. PLEASE CHECK YOUR I-797, Notice of Action, u will see THE A NUMBER THERE. Good luck for all of us !!!!"

Sorry for mistake in the previous response . I wrote" I did have any check list notice and if is approved".

Actually I ment to say " I did not have any check list notice and it is approved."

Yay!! very happy for you. Thanks for keeping me updated. Hopefully IV will be ready very soon!!

I'm starting to think that b/c my case was "received" and case #/IIN assigned same day, I need to wait a few days to receive the welcome email (which I still don't have) and the email re DS-261 & AOS 9even though I already submitted DS-261). Guess the rep was right....

I am seeing a whole lot of conflicting information - some file the AOS bill first and then the DS-261 others do the DS-261 first and then AOS/IV bills. I'm not sure what the right process is - all I know is that it's like a Russian Roulette deal with the NVC, you thank God when you dodge a bullet and when you get hit you hang on for dear life.

Really hoping you get yours invoiced soon - I'm kinda worried about the IV bills with every one having issues right now with them - thankfully it looks like if we wait long enough they'll just open them up for us!

the checklist was for putting the wrong amount in 13a. and not putting anything in part 6 where it asks you about total income amount. I corrected it and sent it back in today Alhamdulillah. Now I have to wait again :clock: . but it seems like the NVC is picking up on there cases a lot. :goofy:

Ouch! So sorry about the checklist - IA your case will be reviewed soon!!

Update on my case: Case received / Case # & IIN assigned: 9/17/2014; DS-261 submitted on 9/18/14

I spoke with Amanda today (very nice lady & helpful too). She said that since my case was barely opened on 9/17, that I have to wait 20 business days from 9/18 for them to send me the welcome email. Also, she said that since I already submitted the DS-261, it will be applied to my account. AOS fee should be unlocked 20 business days from 9/18/14 as well.

That's it, so no more going crazy! lol :)

haha that's funny, iA it will be opened soon.

Inshallah!

Pheeeew, finally went through both request forms and have updated both spreadsheet layouts! :dancing: Of course, not the ones who filled the forms out incorrectly :P

Thank you to those who submitted correctly, and to those who just submitted their request ONCE. Had a few folks submit 2-3+ times

Yay Saylin! Thanks so much for the hard work! Cheers for hopefully filling mine out appropriately - however I couldn't remember what I filled out so you might get one more from me updating the status!

On the I-797 there is a A number for the Petitioner, but there isn't one for the Beneficiary in my case. We left it blank on the AOS.

You can always check the response sheet and the spreadsheet to see your line ;) If you fill out the new request form and don't get a checklist, then your request was fine. You'd know if you did something wrong when you fill out the new request form

I actually don't see your line on the spreadsheet being up to date with your timeline/signature. Unless I accidentally deleted your line, are you sure you submitted a request?

Hi SharksBelow

Hey listen, I am also Australian living here in Adelaide. My husband is back in US working while children and I wait for Visa.

Go to Skype and buy some credit and then you can call NVC really cheap. It costs me about two dollars for an hour of waiting for them. It is great. Check it out.

Another way to get cheap and unlimited calling is to get your USA partner to buy and send to you a magicjack usb phone dongle.

Plugs into pc/laptop

This gives you a USA number to use....

Once bought no usage charges.

I use it every day....

My scan date was July 29th. Its under my name (the petitioner) but I havent been working nor living in the us for the past 5 years so havent filed any taxes.I included a letter stating my situation so I dont understand why they would want this from me???

I got a checklist today for Part 3 item 7 and the checklist was in the name of the petitioner.. We too have a joint sponsor. When we checked the petitioner's (my wife) I 864 we found that Part 3 item 7 was correct. When we checked our joint sponsor's form we immediately noticed that Part 3 item 7 was wrong. Instead of 1 my joint sponsor had mentioned 0 in Part 3 item 7. So we corrected my joint sponsor's I 864 and will be mailing it today. My understanding is these days even the names on the checklist's are messed up and we need to apply logic while sending in the corrections....

Going by your case you have mentioned that you have no income and never filed taxes. So obviously you would have mentioned 0 income under Part 6 item 13 in the petitioner's I864 form. It's your joint sponsor who would have reported his income from his tax forms under Part 6 item 13 of his I864 form. So you need to compare his income stated on his IRS form and check if he has mentioned the correct amount in Part 6 item 13 and correct it. Please keep in mind this is the most common I 864 mistake for most people. Someone correct me if I am wrong...
