Quick question. They DS260 was unlocked for me earlier today, i went and input some info. Saved the form .. came back to work on it again tonight but the Payment Shows Inprogress and the Status of DS260 shows INCOMPLETE. Is anyone else having this issue? Is the system locked after certain period of time?

Update on my case: Case received / Case # & IIN assigned: 9/17/2014; DS-261 submitted on 9/18/14

I spoke with Amanda today (very nice lady & helpful too). She said that since my case was barely opened on 9/17, that I have to wait 20 business days from 9/18 for them to send me the welcome email. Also, she said that since I already submitted the DS-261, it will be applied to my account. AOS fee should be unlocked 20 business days from 9/18/14 as well.

That's it, so no more going crazy! lol :)

I'm baaaaack! Congrats on all the case completes, approved expedites, interview dates assigned, and approved interviews!!! :dancing::dancing:

:P :P :P

There was over 70 pages to catch up. Doesn't exactly take two minutes to read all of that :P And since it was an early morning flight on Sunday, I didn't get many pages read. And then a busy day at work yesterday. But, finally, all caught up now!

Good to see you back, you were missed. Hope you had a great time.

I keep seeing posts saying that NVC is speeding up. They took 30 business days to review my AOS/IV packet on 8/22 and if they're on Aug 1 now that's 37 business days. Desperately want to believe they are speeding up but not seeing the evidence others are?

With all the depressing checklist going around - including mine which I had to find a whole new sponsor ang get everything for the response in 7 days- a little optimism is needed on this thread every once in a while.

True enough. My checklist 60 day email date is 8/29 but don't think it was actually scanned in until sept. I've been at nvc for five months now.

the checklist was for putting the wrong amount in 13a. and not putting anything in part 6 where it asks you about total income amount. I corrected it and sent it back in today Alhamdulillah. Now I have to wait again :clock: . but it seems like the NVC is picking up on there cases a lot. :goofy:

Same here :(((

I'll ask my wife to send it tomorrow!

Pheeeew, finally went through both request forms and have updated both spreadsheet layouts! :dancing: Of course, not the ones who filled the forms out incorrectly :P

Thank you to those who submitted correctly, and to those who just submitted their request ONCE. Had a few folks submit 2-3+ times

I just thought I'd pass along my experience with calling the NVC tonight. I submitted my DS-261 on 9/16 and called tonight to confirm that they had received it. I asked if the 15 day window quoted on the website was a realistic timeframe to expect the DS-261 to be reviewed. She did not respond to that question, but then verified my (agent) and my husband's (beneficiary) email addresses and said that since she had verbally confirmed with me those addresses that she could unlock the IV fee bill and it would be ready in a few days. I also asked her if I should send it in one or two packages and she told me that one package would be fastest at this point.

Might be worth taking a shot at calling for those people waiting for the IV fee bill.

It doesn't matter if your wife, the beneficiary, is employed or not. And you have to truthfully put unemployed for the present job. What matters is she should not be a public charge when she gets there. That's one of the questions, "Are you likely to be a public charge when you get to the U.S. ?" For the full name in native alphabet, you have to write your wife's name in Spanish, if that is what is her native language.

Thank you very much!! I just finished filling out my DS-261 application, so we're getting there!

I was actually referring to VJ member - harsimar0925.

I am not sure what went wrong with my post but that's who's timeline I was referring to.

Thanks.

I am glad NVC is progressing :) I paid my IV fees yesterday and sent both of my packages today :) Actually I wanted to send everything before I even paid my IV fees. I thought I'd put AOS document sheet in front of both packages (that's what the NVC rep told me to do) but while I was waiting for my husband to collect all his documents, it took him 2 weeks to do that (one week for collecting docs, and one week for sending them here from India)..While I waited for the docs, I got an email on sept 20th that My IV fees has been invoiced but it I couldn't pay it til like yesterday.. I received my husband's documents yesterday and today I sent the packages together attaching IV document sheet :D hopefully they will receive it by tomorrow and sept 25th (my hubby's birthday) will be my scan date :D:D:D

Well, I feel encouraged to read your post. We haven't heard or seen 20 business days lingo in a while. Perhaps, NVC is speeding up for real!!!!!,

Wow! I had the same conversation with a rep back in May and she didn't mention anything about unlocking the IV fee after verbal verification. Maybe NVC is eliminating useless steps that bottleneck the entire process. I would believe it when I see it, but this is truly a good news for many.

I have a stupid question. I just confirmed NVC received my case on 9/17, but... NVC does not have my email address, or the petitioners', do they? I don't think they're anywhere on the I-130 package. The approval letter from USCIS said NVC would contact the beneficiary but how, snail mail?? I know with the old process you were supposed to call and give them your email address, is this still the case? If so, when? When you're assigned a case number?

If you don't call, does the petitioner get a letter in the mail too? I don't trust my country's postal system at all. Thanks!
