I am getting nervous ...

While filing I-864EZ House Hold Size (filing for my wife) I had put 2 in the first line and rest of the fields empty. I had even checked with NVC operator and they told me to leave empty.

Can you get a checklist for leaving them empty..Do we have to put 0 all others..please clarify

I'm baaaaack! Congrats on all the case completes, approved expedites, interview dates assigned, and approved interviews!!! :dancing::dancing:

:P :P :P

There was over 70 pages to catch up. Doesn't exactly take two minutes to read all of that :P And since it was an early morning flight on Sunday, I didn't get many pages read. And then a busy day at work yesterday. But, finally, all caught up now!

Welcome back Saylin! I missed you.

Congratulations, second August 1 scan date progress. Next is August 4.

thanks mate,,,i wish it was a false checklist but it does not seem to be. it has {x} sentences asking to complete that..i.e

[x] Items 13.a.1. The income you enter must match the total (gross) income reported on your most recent Federal
income tax return. If you filed Form 1040EZ, use the adjusted gross income instead.

Line 22 Form 1040

the checklist i received this morning highlights the following :crying::crying::crying:

[x] Item 5. You must enter your current individual annual income. This means the amount of money you expect to earn
during the current calendar year
now what do they call this current annual income...may be the projected one for current year....ok I put the same as last year (assuming that would be earning for this year too). So whats wrong with it..
[x] Items 13.a.1. The income you enter must match the total (gross) income reported on your most recent Federal
income tax return. If you filed Form 1040EZ, use the adjusted gross income instead.
But I have checked it, i have put the same figure from Fed Income Tax return. strange.
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE CHECK THIS OUT...THANKS

Item 5 Put your annual income for your current job

Your timeline is giving me great hope. Your IV bill appeared 15days after receiving the AOS bill, so that's bang on the new process timings

Are you going to be submitting your packages as 'ONE package' as per new process?

Hi all. I have a question for anybody going through this process for the second time:

I was a LPR up until recently and I am confused with some of the questions on the DS-260, specifically regarding previous visits and whether LPR is a visa for the terms of this form. I cannot seem to find instructions on this so i'd like to see what the consensus appears to be.

Do I list entering the US as a permanent resident after going away on vacations as a "visit"?

Is LPR a visa? I cannot find it listed in the drop down menu and can only think it would come under "other- immigrant visa" but then it asks for a visa number. I have only ever had an alien registration number, no visa number. Should I repeat the ARN in the visa number section?

I suppose these seem like small details and i'm sure the Embassy will discuss it with me if there are issues, but it might be good to get an idea from others before I submit.

Do you know when your case was "received" /scanned in to their system? It's 60 calendar days from that scan/received date.

Update: Was able to pay my AOS Fees today - got the e-mail and within 20 minutes the portal was opened. Got excited to see the IV bill said pay now but realized it was NVC playing a prank on me

So AOS is paid - now just waiting for IV bill and we are set. Fingers crossed we can send out our papers by next week (IA).

Hi everybody,

After a nightmare dealing with the Taiwan consulate in getting my wife's police clearance, we are finally getting ready to email her IV package. I know everybody is sick of waiting but please get your police clearances in advance or your wait will become worse than you could imagine.

Anyways after my wife sends the documentation by email since we are signed up for electronic processing through Canada. How long will it take approximately for her interview in Montreal? Any other concerns I should be aware of? I am rereading everything again about the process.

Thanks

Paul

I am waiting for NVC to invoice me the IV bill, and in the process of preparing my IV package. I sppoke to NVC today because I have a couple of questions about my Police Cert. so they told me that I would need a police clearence from my Passport office (was aware of that) but also from my local police station, now I am pretty sure I read somewhere that you only need a police clearence from your local police station if you have a criminal record (which I dont) so do I still have to get a clearence from my local police?

Secondly, I have lived overseas for a few years, Now I am aware that I would need a police clearence from the local police there however do I also need a clearence from the passport dept in that country as well? I mean I was only a student there and they would have no record of me, I was not a citizen in their country. I asked the NVC representative that and his answer was "good question, but you have to figure that out yourself"

Any help would be appreciated

You do not need a police clearance from the police station in India if you are an Indian citizen. The rep did not know what (s)he was talking about.

Look at http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/fees/reciprocity-by-country.html to find out how to obtain police certificates for the specific countries you lived in. Notice that in some countries, they will say not obtainable in which case you will not need it.

What a horrible representative. First gives wrong information, then thinks his or her job is over after saying figure it out yourself.

Thanks for the info. and yeah he just wanted to end the conversation was a bit rushed.

I have just one more question, I lived in Sydney (Australia), so the State would be New South Wales. I asked the rep If I should get the clearence from the Fedreal police there and he was like, sure you can ask them, but the link above directs me to the New South Wales police Dept. so which one should I contact. Also the link says If its through New South Wales police they will send the report directly to the U.S. Consulate in Syd, which would not be of any help because my case would go to New Delhi consulate in India. Any Suggestions?
