Yeaaahhh! Third month at NVC and no end in sight. Positive thoughts though, positive thoughts.

Good luck everybody and let's hope for an abundance of case completes this month since August seemed to be a bust! :ranting:

Alright, and let's start the month with some questions, since I can't contact the NVC today about it. And quite frankly, I don't want to because their answer to all questions is going to be "60 days you fool!!" Me: "but I just need help with..." NVC: "60 FRIGGIN DAYS! AT LEAST!!!" So, preparing the documents to be sent in for my AOS checklist. The checklist states this:

Supporting Documents missing or incomplete

[x] A written statement/explanation as to why tax returns were not filed is required if you are/have been

unemployed, retired or dependent.

[x] The listed income tax documents/IRS statements for the years marked below are missing/incomplete (if you

have lost any of the requested tax information, contact your local IRS office to obtain a copy) (Only Federal

returns (not state or local) are acceptable unless the sponsor's income was earned in Puerto Rico.)

Federal income tax returns, literal printouts from the IRS (RTFTP) or a Letter 1722 issued by IRS

are missing/incomplete for the year(s): [x] 2013 [ ] 2010 [ ] 2009 [ ] 2008.

So I'm guessing this is an either or option? If we send in the 2013 tax transcript, then I shouldn't have to include a statement, right? It's confusing because my spouse was not required to file in 2011 and only worked for 6 months in 2012, and a letter was previously included to state this. If nothing was filed for 2011 then we should only be required to provide the tax info for the most recent year? I know the checklist is only asking for 2013, but just trying to cover all bases. Since my spouse only worked for one month in 2013, we also provided pay stubs from the last 7-8 months to prove current income, which already for only 7 months exceeds the minimum income requirement. Should we, just in case, add a letter from the employer since we are sending stuff in anyway? Btw. is an online printout of the tax transcript sufficient?

Part 3 Information on the Sponsor

[x] This section is incomplete, please answer all questions completely. (If a question is not applicable,

please indicate N/A in the appropriate space.)

We used the I-864EZ so I guess my spouse made a rookie mistake  Also, regarding part 19 Federal Income Tax Information, if we do not send anything but the most recent tax transcript, should we also write N/A for 2012 and 2011? Or fill out the information for 2012 since taxes were filed? And for Part 16 Household Size, if it's just me and my spouse, we should just put 0 in all the other slots, right?

Thanks for y'alls help!

Even if u didn't file 2011 and half of 2012 taxes u can't write N/A anywhere. Put '0' in 2011, adjusted gross in 2012 and 2013 whatever was filed. And a letter of explanation for 2011. Even if u send transcripts u still have to include the letter. Employment letter is optional but why not send it since Nvc is a nut house these days, we didn't send it though. And Ofcourse the famous N/A mistake that half of the people with EZ makes, ask him to correct that. It's so annoying really.

Thanks! So should we include the transcript for 2012 then as well? May as well I guess since we have the transcript, and the IRS record showing nothing was filed for 2011. Is a freeform statement for 2011 fine? Or should we include proof of foreign domicile for that period?
