I called NVC last night, however I was told by Max that both my packages are being sent for review. Does that mean that they sent it to a supervisor? . My aos scan date is August 5 and iv is September 2.

If that is so...., good news is coming your way. I really hope NVC is working hard to process every case ASAP.

me too!! That really sucks!!!:clock:

Saylin, it would be great if you could add all the commonly-made i864 mistakes on the wiki, because that's really the go-to page for everyone new to the NVC journey! Hopefully, many ppl can avoid getting a checklist going forward if they learned about all these i864 traps early on!!!

######! I did leave a lot of sections blank but they were irrelevant !!

Now im mentally prepared for another 2 months for the checklist review!

I suggest double and triple checking. Taking a break and then checking again. It is also very wise to make exact copies of all documents in both packets exactly as you have sent them in. This is what I did and have already doubted myself when reading post's on here. I can easily go back and reassure myself of what I have sent. Not fool proof but I am sure if I didn't have these packets to go back to I would go crazy. So far I think I'm O.K.

These are the common ones she has on there already. I believe there are a couple of threads discussing RFE's and checklists that cases have received also.

Avoiding Checklists

Here are a few common checklist items I see all the time:

-Use the correct numbers on the I-864/I-864EZ for past year's incomes. As it states RIGHT IN THE QUESTION, if you filed a 1040 (or 1040A), then use total income, and if you filed a 1040EZ, then use adjusted gross income. If you filed jointly, then make sure you use the combined income (since it doesn't separate the incomes) and then submit W2s to show individual income.

-Although the I-864 instructions say if the answer is none or N/A, then to leave it blank, do NOT do this. I have seen countless people get checklists for leaving things blank, specifically the question asking for place of residence on the I-864EZ. Although it says to fill it out only if it's different from the mailing address, I have seen dozens and dozens of people getting checklists for leaving it blank.

If you have recently sent it in, then just correct the mistakes and resend it. It seriously isn't worth the wait. You can send it in now and save yourself some time.

APPROVED!!!!!

Had my interview this morning in Montreal! Everything went smoothly and my CO was really nice and friendly and wasn't too hard to convince of our domicile requirement (I was worried about it since we're both self employed so I couldn't provide a job offer or anything for hubby).

Thank goodness there's a coffee machine in the waiting area, since I flew from Vancouver yesterday so the 8:30 am interview felt like 5:30am!

Congrats
