Hi Saylin,

I think I have noticed that Department of State, Bureau of Consular Affairs has changed their website in reguards to the Immigrant Visa Process.

http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/petition.html

Maybe it has been posted some where on VisaJourney, or maybe I am wrong, but I will ask here if you or anyone else has noted a change.

First, before when I checked the Embassy specific drop-down list in the Step 5: Collect Supporting Documents down near the bottom, there USED to be no specific MNL (Manila) Embassy specific info in the PDF downloadable document. Now there is a long list.

SECOND, in STEP 6: Submit Documents to NVC it states:

Step 6: Submit Documents to the NVC

After you collect your Affidavit of Support form(s) and financial evidence in Step 4, and supporting documents in Step 5, you must submit all of the documents in ONE package to the NVC. Your case may be significantly delayed if you fail to submit all of your documents in one package.

http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Submit_documents.html

So now I think that all Visa Journey wikis should now make it clear that after a person enters the DS-260 online they should then send the I-864 (with supporting documents) and the Supporting Documents for the Ds-260 all at the same time.

Am I wrong on this?

It's Friday, so I would imagine I am done 'til Monday.

we still have to wait for IV fee to be invoiced before sending packages. so paying aos doesnt change anything right now.

Ok, this turned out to be one hell of a case, the good news I'm in line for scheduling interview anyway, the bad news, I got checklisted for an "I864A", apparently I have to take one to the interview, do this means I need another Affidavit of support (I864) or just a new "I864A" and supporting docs?

Ah, that makes sense! Since you got more than two checklists (actually, three checklists), NVC is closing your case and letting you bring the corrected documents to the embassy/consulate.

I thought it was highly unlikely that NVC "looked for" your remaining package. They only do that for EP filers since they can use the search function on their email system. However, they don't have the resource (or manpower) to look for a particular package since they receive tons of mail everyday.

Hello everyone, one question: looking at the screen shots for the DS261 application, I noticed that one of the first questions is "Beneficiary's id number". Where do I get this if I still didn't get any notice from NVC yet? I got my account number and IIN number today, but what is a "beneficiary id number"? Also, if I happen to get that, is it wise to start the DS-261 without notice from NVC? Thanks for the answers!

Oh I so wish they would do that to my file. They keep saying supervisor did not see BC and waiting on checklist to be reviewed they did not want to check for BC in that package that I send it again. I think I am calling on Monday morning andcrequesting new supervisor maybe I will be lucky and get Sylvia

You can get the Beneficiary ID from NVC by calling them. That's what I did when I saw the example on VJ. However, I filled out my DS-261 yesterday and it doesn't ask for it anymore, fyi.

I have not received any email from NVC either but I filled out my DS-261 anyway in order to get the calendar days started. Good luck!
