Hi Godalone,

I haven't personally dealt with a checklist so maybe I'm not the most qualified person to answer your question, but from what I've read on here and from what it says on your checklist, it looks like you only need to send out the corrected forms, no need to resend supporting documents.

PLEASE HELP ME: Hi everyone help please - the fact that I was so sure I would not get a checklist and the fact that I got it is causing me to question my own competence. I need help with the checklist. Do I have to send the supporting documents all over again or just print another i864, correct and send it with the checklist as the cover page?

I also don't have a clue what they are asking me for in some of them!

Please review the instructions below then refer to the final page of this checklist for mailing instructions.

[x]-864, Affidavit of Support Checklist [x] The Affidavit of Support is an important legal contract between you and the U.S. government. During our review, we identified one or more sections that were either incomplete or contained incorrect information. Please review the additional instructions below then complete and submit anew Affidavit of Support. You can download the I-864 form and instructions at http://www.uscis.gov/i-864.

[ ] In Part 1. Basis for Filing Affidavit of Support, please correct the following...

[ ] In Part 2. Information on the Principal Immigrant, please correct the following...

[x] In Part 3, Information on the Immigrant(s) You are sponsoring, please correct the following... [x] Items 2 through 6.f.This case's visa category does not allow accompanying family members; therefore, you cannot list family members in this section.

[ ] In Part 4. Information on the Sponsor, please correct the following...

[ ] In Part 5. Sponsor's Household Size, please correct the following...

[ ] In Part 6. Sponsor's Income and Employment, please correct the following...

[ ] In Part 8, Sponsor's Contract, please correct the following...

[x] The Form I-864 we received was missing the following page(s). Please ensure you include all nine pages when you resubmit the form. [x] Page 9 of 9.

[ ] You must submit the following financial evidence:

[ ] NVC Special Instructions

FOR MY JOINT SPONSOR - they have the following field - He only had once copy of his paper which I sent to NVC - I forgot to made copy - so I don't know what # I will need to put help!

In Part 6. Sponsor's Income and Employment, please correct the following... [x] Items 13.a.1.The income you enter must match the total (gross) income reported on your most recent Federal income tax return. If you filed Form 1040EZ, use the adjusted gross income instead

Ok, for yours, sounds like the signature page was missing. Also, is there more than one person listed as an intending immigrant to be sponsored under section 3?

Your joint sponsor used the wrong income figure on his I-864. If he filed form 1040 to do his taxes, he needs to use the Total Income figure from line 22 on the tax form on the affidavit of support. If he filed the 1040EZ, he should use the Adjusted Gross Income.

The type of tax form filed will be noted toward the beginning of the tax return transcript. Look for "Form Number." My transcripts have my address, followed by filing status, followed by form number.

[x] Items 13.a.1.The income you enter must match the total (gross) income reported on your most recent Federal income tax return. If you filed Form 1040EZ, use the adjusted gross income instead

Yes. The tax return transcript lists both the tax form that was used and the income figure needed for the AOS, but you have to be sure to use the figure that corresponds to the tax form type, as instructed in what you've quoted above.

I found some interesting information about NVC (I won't post a link because I don't think I'm allowed because it was on another forum, unless I am allowed?).

The information was undated, and I don't know how accurate it is, but it said this:

- NVC has more than 400 employees

- They receive between 15,000-20,000 cases from USCIS per month.

- On any given day, NVC has around 2,000,000 cases on hand

That includes all cases, not just I-130. I know other cases are processed differently, but for the sake of my calculations let's assume that most require you to send in two pieces of mail, such as AOS and IV, and for half the cases a checklist.

That would mean that each month they receive between 37,000 and 50,000 pieces of mail.

There are on average 21 working days per month (excluding holidays), so that's between 1,761 and 2,381 pieces of mail per day.

No wonder they lose or overlook documents.

And just think, those figures are undoubtedly pre-backlog. It's bound to be worse now. Last month I found a solicitation issued by NVC a couple of years ago to find a new contractor to provide its staff. It had quite a bit of interesting information, but processing statistics and workload type data are kept pretty strictly under lock and key. All the companies bidding for the contract had to sign an NDA before getting access to that data. I culled some stats mentioned in the Q&A for the bid:

The total number of public calls handled by NVC for 2011 was 2,089,657. NVC Basic Processing statistics for 2011 averaged about 714,000 per month. For quality assurance purposes, there is a cursory review of 5,400 cases and an in depth review of 1,000 cases every month.

Oof.

Ok so it looks like u have 2 mistakes in ur form and one in sponsor's.

1) if u r sponsoring just ur husband then leave all the other family member spaces either blank or put n/a.

2) ur page 9 in form was missing. Include that

In sponsor's u put the wrong figure in tax question. As bos said ask them to download the form again, tell u the form number and then put the figure exactly from transcript. I think it would be a better idea to ask them to give u a snap of their downloaded transcript so u can check the form number urself.

Don't be depressed please. I went though the same thing. I know how it feels. And my husband had just skipped one stupid military question. U will feel better after submitting checklist response trust me.

Thank you for your response.

Do we fill the whole form out or just the part 4 qs12?

The mail that was sent to the applicant, will that be a review response for the IV documents submitted? It's the second part of my post.
