Hi guys, congrats to everyone who got CC! I want to share my short update. My wife had interview on 8th August, visa was approved and we got passport in about 8 business days.

I accompanied my wife for visa interview and I think it was useful to go together.Specially if you are in one of those countries where additional processing is a concern, I think it is definitely a plus to go together to make a stronger case. We came to US just this past weekend!

Another thing that has changed since my last travel was US immigration now takes place at the departing airports in mideast - in my case at Abu dabhi airport. I didn't know that and I was late to go the gate but thankfully flight was late and they processed it. This just happens at the departing gate, no need to go looking for US immigration. So the flight to New York was domestic flight!

That's what's called a preclearance location. Only a FEW locations have it worldwide. You can find the list here: http://www.cbp.gov/contact/ports/preclearance/preclear-locations If you are NOT going through one of those listed locations, then you'll go through US customs once you land in the US.

A quick question on ds 260..help needed

Q.does ur child live with u?

Q. Do u hav documentation that u hav recieved vaccinations in accordancee with us laws?

My child n wife both r in usa so wat do i put in q1?For q2 wat shud i write in the explain box ...plz help

Just received & paid the IV Fee at 2am US Time!!!

Look, I'm in the same case as you: expedite request sent...now are you gonna wait to send the IV package or you're sending it before knowing if your case will be expedite or not?

Are checklists ever issued for DS-260?

Is the DS-260 completion date a factor, i.e.: does it affect the case complete?

I realize that up until now, most people complete DS-260 around same time as sending in IV package.

I am wondering if in the new process- sending in both packages together, before DS-260 is available for completion- how the DS-260 completion date affects the case complete time frame.

You meant to say that once immigrant arrived to USA from Pakistan, they do not have to go through big lines of immigration or this new process is just for US citizens?

Thanks and yes the US immigration is for all visitors not just citizens. Saylon put a link of preclearance locations. Apparently this only happens at abu dabhi in asia which is the hub for Eitihad airline so get a ticket on that if you want to go through immigration before boarding flight. The US Immigration staff at abu dabhi was friendly unlike other locations where you feel like you are in a jail. Other locations they don't allow you to use cell phone, they don't allow you to snooze (some ppl are tired) but in abu dabhi environment was very friendly, relaxed and humane. You can play games on cell phone while you wait..no problem there.

Not sure if anyone helped you out, but here is my two cents. The vaccination question is asking for your vaccination records that you would have had from your birth and up. At the medical exam, the MD will determine if you need additional vaccinations and/or booster shots to bring you up-to-date and up-to-US standard. I answered this questions: Yes, because I can provide my vaccination record and/or get the needed shots at the medical. Your answer: " I DID NOT RECIEVE ANY VACCINATION:.. is very ambiguous and you may have to add an explanation. Some religions do not allow children to be vaccinated, so if it is against your belief system you may have to state it.

This must be in wiki somewhere but i cant seem to find it, Here it goes, i paid my IV Fees around 3am this morning, but i cant seem to find the freaking DS260 link anywhere in the payment or immigration portal page, does it become active after IV shows as PAID?

I believe so. The link will be available at the ceac website - https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/. I've noticed people can fill the DS 260 a couple days after the payment. So probably by Monday we'll be able to fill it in (I also paid the IV fee today)
