Some people have mentioned about a bar code on every page of I-864. Is this barcode also present on I-864EZ .I dont see it so just confirming...Thanks

No, the EZ form does not have a barcode.

Hello Everyone,

My first post! I've been on here for a few months sporadically in this process getting loads of good advice :) so..thank you! We are just in the NVC process ourselves. I submitted the DS-261 on July 13th 2014....aaaannd still no IV bill invoiced :(

I think i've made a few mistakes after reading a lot of forums and reading about people getting checklists, so i wanted to see what you guys think about it all.

Mistake #1: On the Form I-864EZ, we left a few spots blank. Like Part 3, #9 - place of residence (if diff't from mailing). Also left Name of second employer blank since there's only one employer.

Mistake #2: Signed the form I-864EZ in blue ink! Thought this would be best because we filed using electronic processing. But re-read the instructions and realised they do specifically say black ink.

Mistake #3: On the ceac website, on august 23rd, clicked on the DS-261 link! Argh. Went from complete to incomplete. So i re-completed it, but I didn't get an email from NVC, so i'm hopeful that they are still just considering the july 13th date for submitting the ds-261. I read on the August NVC thread, that the resetting of the date was a glitch and it seems to be fixed - i'm hopeful of this since I don't want to be set back 60 days from august 23rd! I am planning to call NVC to double check next week.

So with the above mistakes, I am resigning myself for a checklist for our AOS package. Since we haven't even submitted the IV package yet, i'm guessing the timeline will be similar for approval of both packages even with a potential checklist. Really really hopeful for a december interview date, but am prepared for a January one...it would really suck if it's later than that!

Anyways, just wanted to post and let you guys know where my husband and I are at. I know that we are luckier than most since my husband is in seattle and I live in Vancouver and we do get to see each other every weekend...but it's hard when we're the only ones in our social circle going through this. However, it has been helpful and encouraging to see how helpful everyone is each other in this slow excruiciating beurocratic process!

Husband also left part 3 #9 blank instead of saying N/A. I know it tells you in the instructions that you should leave everything blank if it doesn't apply, but we got a checklist for that :ranting:

 I think you may be the first person I've seen that has gotten a checklist solely cause you signed in blue ink...

That's just ridiculous... :bonk:

I thought it was ridiculous too. I had to ask her a few times to make sure I heard her correctly. I am not one who calls every day or every week. I give it time. Just wondering now if it will take 60 days to say "yup, that right ther is black ink!" almost at my 30 of the 60 days! :clock:

Hello Everyone

Need some urgent help !! Thanks

I had sent my AOS docs mid August

1) .I just realised that I have put the incomes wrong in the I-864 EZ . My tax reciepts say I filled up form 1040 but I wrote Adjusted Gross Income instead of Total Income.

2) Also I signed on the form with Blue Ink.

Should I send the whole package again to NVC again with all docs or Should I wait and hope I am not checklisted.....how much probable I am to be checklsted for the point 1income goof up

thanks

I'm not too sure about the ink, but messing up the income numbers can surely generate a checklist. Since it has only been a couple of weeks, I would suggest that you send in the new form and complete it properly. Also, please remember to list n/a for all the blank spaces.

I think it would probably be best to ask your in laws to sign in black ink...and if you want to submit the form you already have in blue ink now...at this point, it's up to you. It seems like there's been one user (HettyandSaid) that's had an issue with submitting in blue ink. But it does seem like that may be an exception. If you do submit the blue ink form now and it gets a checklist at least you'll have the black ink form in hand to submit right away.

This is technically my 3rd month at the NVC, but I've really only done things for the last 2 months. I'm hoping to hear something this month, although my 60 days from AOS received and IV received are in October. But I'm hopeful to hear something!

Good luck to all of us in September!

As a side note, I called NVC last week and although I think I was incredibly nice, the agent was awful. I wanted to ask her for a general status update - review the receive/scan date, give me the "60 days" talk, etc. After she confirmed my biographic information she didn't say anything at all; she just sat on the phone and waited for me to say something. I started to ask a question and she snorted and said, "Um, you need to just wait. I don't have any information for you - we will contact you. You don't need to call." Instead of arguing (I'm afraid they will "lose" an important document if I cause a scene), I just said, "Thanks!" and hung up. Sigh...

Welcome to NVC rare to find a nice person there and one that will give you the information they are their to give you.

Please take a moment to send NVC an e-mail and complain they do have a log so if you don't have the agents name please put down the date and approximate time you called so she is reprimanded. You will be doing us all a favor, you'll find the e-mail below. :D Ty in advance. (F) (L) (F)

I made the same mistake. When I called the NVC, they did not give me any clear advice other than saying that before making a decision every piece of mail is read. I decided to wait since I had to wait for the IV fee invoicing in any case (AustinCanada made this observation about AOS checklists) and in hope of a miracle that this mistake is overlooked. Ultimately, I did receive a checklist and I had to send the updated documents. I think Lovemytico sent an updated document immediately after she caught the mistake and was able to save some time.

I sent mine in as soon as I found the mistakes and it does save time and in my case tons of time. :D

Is there any way at all we can send it anyway or print out a new one that they have sent by email? I know it's meant to be original but I can't go through taht again.. or can we fill it in as the preparer and attach the previous one to show that we are just sending a new one signed in black ink but scanned? This is all hopeless isn't it and I just have to ask them to sign it in black ink and send again, don't I? Literally in tears I am so frustrated why are there so many ways to eff this up?

I signed some in black some in blue an some in both and no checklists hahahahaaa over kill I know but wasn't going to risk it.....    They must have thought this B is crazy just let it pass! THEY ARE LUCKY THEY DID!t0126.gif
