Just wondering

I am glad NVC is progressing :) I paid my IV fees yesterday and sent both of my packages today :) Actually I wanted to send everything before I even paid my IV fees. I thought I'd put AOS document sheet in front of both packages (that's what the NVC rep told me to do) but while I was waiting for my husband to collect all his documents, it took him 2 weeks to do that (one week for collecting docs, and one week for sending them here from India)..While I waited for the docs, I got an email on sept 20th that My IV fees has been invoiced but it I couldn't pay it til like yesterday.. I received my husband's documents yesterday and today I sent the packages together attaching IV document sheet :D hopefully they will receive it by tomorrow and sept 25th (my hubby's birthday) will be my scan date :D:D:D

It seems like you fell under the new process, did you include the document cover sheet as well in your package? (Or did you even get an email with that?)

Hey VJers,

I called NVC on September 18th and talked to a lovely lady who put my DS-261 (filled August 27th) for immediate review and asked me to send my IV Package if it was ready using the AOS Barcoded Cover Sheet...which I did on September 20th (still No notification they received my IV Package btw)

Finally I got my IV Fee bill invoiced yesterday :) my husband paid it right the way and now we are waiting for the status to change from IN PROCESS to PAID to start the IV application.

But something is bother me in one of the Notification's email I've received...they are talking about DS 230 and not DS-260, do they change the form again?

Thanks in advance for your response :)

I forgot to ask you guy...Since I sent my IV Package with the AOS Barcoded cover sheet before the IV Fee Bill was issued....Should I send the IV Package Barcoded cover Sheet and IV Bill receipt? (the agent I spoked to didn't enlighten regarding this point)

Whoohoo! I cannot tell you how excited I am to finally be qualified to be a part of this forum. I kinda have mixed feelings (excitement and anxiety) at this point, but am believing that we will speed through this leg of the journey with no RFEs just like the I-130 stage.

Our case was approved on September 17 (162 days). Hubby has not yet received the written notification, but we are will be calling NVC before this week is out, because he will be visiting me for two weeks for our anniversary, and we want to make sure that we get our Case # before he leaves on October 6.

I have a stupid question. I just confirmed NVC received my case on 9/17, but... NVC does not have my email address, or the petitioners', do they? I don't think they're anywhere on the I-130 package. The approval letter from USCIS said NVC would contact the beneficiary but how, snail mail?? I know with the old process you were supposed to call and give them your email address, is this still the case? If so, when? When you're assigned a case number?

If you don't call, does the petitioner get a letter in the mail too? I don't trust my country's postal system at all. Thanks!

From what I understand, if you filed a G-1145 form with your I-130 package at USCIS, then they send that to NVC as well and that is how they initially have the petitioner's email address. If NVC received your case on 9/17 (my case was received same day), then you should call NVC and ask them for the Case # & IIN and while you're on the phone give them your email address and the beneficiary's email address that way all communication will initiate by email.

To this day I have not received the "Welcome" email most people have gotten but according to NVC that is because they just scanned in my case into their database on 9/17. However, they have both email addresses and a contact # where to reach me b/c I called and gave it to them.

B/c mail can be so unreliable in many parts of the world, if you can, please make an effort to call today and give them your email addresses. That way you can avoid missing important notices from them.

 God's timing is always perfect. . . :star:"Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!" (Luke 1:45) ^_^

I-130 Petition (Spouse): 2/20/14: NOA1; 8/18/14: NOA2

now that I called NVC they told me something that totally freaked me out.they said they dont see anything about my IV documents that was delivered 2 weeks ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UPS shows delivery 2 weeks ago but the rep says he doesnt see anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!what should I do??????I emailed them the confirmation a minute ago but that will take them 30 days to review..PLEASE HELP ME...is there anything else I can do???

sorry for posting twice.mistakenly posted the first one in a quote.

I think it depends on how you approach the subject. My husband asked for the scan date for our IV package, but the agent responded with "I don't know what a scan date is but you need to send us your IV package and complete your DS-260." (we've already done both and are waiting for them to be reviewed). My husband freaked out so I said "ask him if there are any pending mail pieces for us". And there was. The scan date was the day after it arrived at their facility

To be fair, my husband somehow got through to the Spanish speaking team, so that might have contributed to the confusion!

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

Hi all vj members,

My passport is about to expire. I have already submitted my ds260 with my current passport number. Now I have to apply for a new passport. In Pakistan only the last digit of passport number changes. Now please tell me how can I update this change in my ds 260?

Do I change it right now( my iv documents and ds260 have been reviewed at NVC, now waiting for checklist to be reviewed)?

Do I change it after case complete and bring a print out of whole form as well as confirmation page? ( does this confirmation page also change after making changes?)

I hope you people understand I don't want to stay at NVC for another 60 days after making even a minor change in my case.

Your help is greatly appreciated

Thank you Saylin, feeling great to get the response from the IMMIGRATION EXPERT :-) .

One more question specially for you. Does previous non immigrant visa e.g. student and visit , denials can result in refusal of immigrant visa?( specially from a country like Pakistan?

You have a very good vision and experience so your answer will help me a lot.
