blah, wife's parents filed 2013 taxes as single. do you think we should send for an amendment even though we have a joint sponsor? she didnt make anything in 2013 so our joint sponsor income will be used in full to determine financial support

any suggestions?

Someone else will surely correct me if I'm wrong, but I think just the joint sponsor will file an I-864. If the joint sponsor's spouse is not filing or using their income, then they do not have to complete any form (this is where I'm not 100%). The joint sponsor does need to list their spouse in the total number of people in the household, even if their income is not being included in sponsoring your spouse.

5/21/2016: Mailed I-751 packet to CSC

5/23/2016: NOA1

7/29/2016: Biometrics Appointment

11/22/2016: I-751 Approved!

I am sorry to hear that. Don't fret and don't let your wife worry. I know its painful, but it will be over before you know it. Send in the correction as soon as you can. It will get better. Fingers crossed.

Got a checklist. scan date, july 25th. I'll be lucky if I get my wife here under 2 years. This is going to break her heart.

So I just received my case # and IIN. I was trying to log into the CEAC website and I get this error message:

Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time. Please contact the National Visa Center if you believe that you have received this message in error.

Is this normal? They said they are putting my information into the system today, so maybe that's why I'm getting this message? I am so excited I can't even contain it! I wish I could jump up and down for joy but I am at work ha-ha :content:

Yes, completely normal. Please read the wiki linked in the first page of this thread for information on this and many more things you can expect to encounter during your time at NVC -- not to mention an excellent guide for getting you through the paperwork without a hitch :)

THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERYONE WHO HAS BEEN HELPING ME THUS FAR!

Feeling frustrated with checklist - desperate cause call for desperate measure. Ps: my Joint sponsor do not know anything about this process, they just hand me the paperwork to take care of this and they will sign it. WHAT IS THE INFORMATION THAT I NEED FROM THE ATTACHED FORM FOR 13.a.1

[x] Items 13.a.1.The income you enter must match the total (gross) income reported on your most recent Federal income tax return. If you filed Form 1040EZ, use the adjusted gross income instead.

Slide1.jpg

Slide2.jpg

Slide3.jpg

Slide4.jpg

I apologise if this issue has already been addressed/resolved

Your joint sponsor is self employed. This means for the Affidavit of Support, NVC and the consulate will require the Adjusted Gross Income, even though it is a form 1040. This is because for self employed sponsors, their income is calculated after expenses (i.e profit). Looking at your joint sponsor's income, they have all but depleted it due to expenses, leaving them unable to sponsor the immigrant. You will need to find someone else whose income is above the 125% poverty line.

Edited by Ketsuban

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.
