Hello guys! I want to bring my mother to live in the US , i did some research and found some info, so it's the form i130 and the processing time is 5 month according to the uscis, but I'm not sure when they said " As a visa number becomes available. Filing and approval of an I-130 is only the first step in helping a relative immigrate to the United States. Eligible family members must wait until there is a visa number available before they can apply for an immigrant visa or adjustment of status to a lawful permanent resident". I assume that it supposed to take 5 months to receive a visa number , so once she receive the visa number, she can come over and apply for GC here? , I'm kinda confused, and how long is it supposed to take for her to be able to come over?

No. It takes 5 months for approval of the petition. Then you will receive a number. You can see what kind of time it typically takes from approval to receiving a visa for your country. For example, if it was the Philippines, your mother would be looking at approximately 15 year waiting list.

HI

I assume you are a USC? The petition takes around a year or a little over a year, read the guides here

the i130 can take from 5 to 9 months of approval depending on the service center that you get, or if the i130 is transferred to another center along the way

Parents are immediate relatives they don't have to wait until there is a visa available

Your mother is an immediate relative. If you are a US citizen and you qualify in any other way (income etc.), you will be able to bring her over in no time. Some people do it in 6 months, others wait 12-18 months.

Thank you for your all responses , I did checked the guides but it doesn't say anything about form I864

Check the NVC guides for the I864. The I130 guide is only for USCIS.
