The past few days I have been very troubled. I can't seem to find out many of the things I need to know so I can be at peace with my situation. I want to bring my fiancee to America and marry her here. I visited a lawyer which didn't know much more than me. I wished I didn't see him. How can I stop stressing myself out over all of this? Please pray for me. Pray that I will see how to cope with everything in the best way. Thankyou.

I have become deeply involved with someone I Love With all my heart and promised to bring her here to marry her, but I'm full of so much anxiety about how I will do this. I believe I can do it, but I have a feeling that I have to hurry since I know the amount I will have to show as my income increases each year. I feel very stressed out because I am trying so very hard to accomplish this. I need to have a job which pays a certain amount by next January, but I am lost as to how to find this job. Does anyone have any suggestions of how to find jobs? Please pray for me.

I'm not sure how much more money you need, but maybe working a par-time job will give you the extra income that you need. Or maybe you can find a co-sponsor, to help you meet the income guidelines.

If I have child support which equals $2898 per year. I also have about $4000 in the bank. When I file the affidavit of support can my child support I owe be subtracted from the money in the bank? Or must the amount be subtracted from my gross income for the year?

Have you ever thought of possibly shelving your immigration ambitions for a while - until you get your life and your finances in better shape to support an immigrant?

Income is really the only important thing that they look at. As long as you have a steady job and can substantiant that with paystubs and a copy of your W2 from the prior year, and are making above the minimum guidelines, you're good to go. Debt and things like child support payments aren't part of the equation.

Are you absolutely sure about child support not being included in the affidavit of support?

Remember you can include all gambling winnings. So just fill the form in to show you dropped $45,000 at the slots in Vegas and you will be fine

Child support can be used as income. I used it and so have others on here. Obviously it met with their approval since our K1 was approved, visa issued, and my husband (then fiancé) is here now.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but the income should not be that "high" according to the them, it should be 125% poverty line

check it out here http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-864p.pdf

maybe that's why we're not getting the proper raise cause according to the goverment we make "enough money' to support. It's funny how on 30K income according to the 125% poverty line you can support 5 people

12/14/09 - I-751 mailed

12/23/09 - Check cashed

12/28/09 - NOA1 (dated 12/21/09)

01/03/10 - I-797 NOA received for biometrics appt

01/26/10 - Biometrics appt.

01/27/10 - Touch

04/29/10 - Approved

reminder for myself: apply for citizenship in november 2010
