Airline made the right call. Reimbursing them is fine, kids can't always be controlled given that they're human beings with free will and not puppies, still, the plane had to take off.

Sounds like an argument for a bit of rum in the sippy cup to me. ("Daddy calls this drink Captain and Coke.")

When they remember to stop doing things that they were told not do. Thus a reminder is needed to help facilitate the process.

The problem seems to be with the Parents, rather than a 3 year old.

I have travelled with a 5 year old and a 3 year old, the 5 year old spent her time coloring for fellow passengers and crew, and received highly preferential treatment.

The 3 year old ended up with a dose of 'Mother's little helper' and slept the journey through.

Funny that they got reimbursed because of the "inconvenience", when THEIR child WAS the inconvenience for those other 112 passengers! :ranting:

Ye what about getting reimbursed when you are flying across the Altantic on a 8+ hour flight and the little kid behind you is constantly kicking your seat, screaming, pulling on the headrest and sometimes even running in the aisles? Why no reimbursement there? Or what about when a whole nunch of unrul children sit together... Each time I travel, I get a kick out of all the '#######' parents bring for their children on board the plane, yet they still cannot seem to control them. Why don't they have bratty kids sections on airline?!

I think the adults in this case did not want to fly that airline again, cos of sheer embaressed. They probably thought this type of behaviour was acceptable and maybe even "cute"

Bullchit.. you never need to hit a 3 year old #######! the kid was scard so the right thing to do is

get your azz off the plane and calm the child down MORE..not teach the kid violence is the answer..

Wow, not starting any drama, but IMO it sounds like most of you don't or haven't had children that age. I have a two year old little girl and when she wants to be a hellion even a tap on the bottom wont stop her. (and yes, we do tap on the bottom, but that's the extent of it). I think the airline made the right decision with removing them AND reimbursing them.

But kids are kids, always have been, always will be.

My daughter will be 15 this March. She's a great young girl...always was. A tap on the bottom would work...bunny, that's not violence. Everyone parents their own way. If you think that's violence, you have issues. We're not talking about punching a kid here. I don't advocate abuse but sometimes a little reminder is needed. Even the threat of a reminder worked wonders at times.
