hmmm, I don't blame them...what were they suposed to do? Let the brat get hurt somehow during take-off and get sued...or hold the entire flight up, for an hour or so bacause of 3 year old that wouldn't sit in her seat?

They should have just shot her with a tranquilizer dart.

You win the prize for best idea EVER.

Yeah when these brats are throwing a royal fit and screaming, kicking, etc on a plane I just get compleeeeeeeetely annoyed! Specially when the parents don't do anything because I guess they are "used" to that behavior at home... But that doesn't mean that the airlines/passengers need to put off with that.

Funny that they got reimbursed because of the "inconvenience", when THEIR child WAS the inconvenience for those other 112 passengers! :ranting:

If any of my children had behaved like that at 3 years old, a sharp slap on the leg would have got then to sit in their seat.... people need to learn how to control their children instead of letting their children control them....

Kez

not according to some people - smacking the kid on the leg is wrong

well you may think it is wrong but I have 2 grown up children and a grandchild and none of them have been damaged by a slap on the leg if it was needed for their own safety or if they got out of hand... I do not agree with hitting a child on the head or body but a sharp slap on the leg is more than enough in most cases to resolve the situation....

That, or simply picking them up, setting them down in the seat, buckling them in, and holding them down...

Seriously  WHY did these parents just sit in their seats while their precious angel was behaving like a holy terror? There's a reason the parent is bigger...

 Good for the airline. Now if only other places would follow suit with children misbehaving/lousy parents. There is nothing more annoying to me than a parent allowing their children to throw tantrums in a public place. Crying for an obvious reason is one thing, being a completely spoiled brat is another.

I would never HIT a kid.. but, I would always threaten them!! 1001 times they would hear me say " I am gonna beat your dayum azz. " I know I will proble have to respond to my kids teachers with " why do your kids always use the word Dayum?"

Yes I saw that thread the other day and stayed out of it... I used to think that I would never smack my kids when I had them.... I would never say the things my parents said to me when I was a kid.... then I had kids and I soon realized that you can sit done and explain thing to a child who does not want to listen and yes sometimes you have to use your size and a smack to just remind them how is the parent....

Oh and yes there were many occations where I found myself saying the exact same things my parents had said to me to both my children...

I am happy and proud to report that both my kids are well adjusted adults who have not wasted any of there lives they both work hard and have noce homes and families and have never been in any kind of trouble...

So forgive me if I continue to belive that the job I did as a parent was a good one and continues to be so..
