Not sure about the specifics of W.A., but I recently took the driven test in California, and can honestly say that it is a lot easier than a UK test. I drive a manual, and I actually rolled back at a junction which is pretty much a no no in a UK test. I said this to the instructor and he said, "that's ok, you didn't panic, in fact, unless you hit a police car before we get back to the test centre, you can't fail!" I just can't imagine having that conversation with a UK examiner :) The only manoever I had to do was a reverse, and not even round a corner, just straight back. It should be fine, but of course, make sure that W.A is the same :)

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

I did it in NC and it is no where near as hard as it is in UK...all I had to do was a 3-point turn and thats it!! From the time I went in through the DMV doors to the time I came out with a 8-year license took under 20 mins including the road test!

It was in Indiana & the lady mentioned the speed limit within the city so I am sure that speed limit was important.

Other than that, just make sure that you do not hit the curb because husband's niece failed her 1st test when she hit the curb on parallel park (at least in Indiana).

The driving test was 10 minutes drive, including the parallel park. I almost turn right on red when there was a sign "no turn on red" but I passed. As long as you are not overly nervous, I am sure you will be fine.

Good luck

Thanks for that I do know I will have to do a parallel park for sure, drove last night on the freeway in the dark it was intresting  but did it ok,anyways booking my test on the 18th Feb for about 9-15/9-30am as I figure that most people will be at work by then and things should be a bit quieter

good luck on your test. I am personally familiar with driving in WA, and it evokes road rage into me.

I did my driving test in Spokane, WA about a year ago. The theory test thing was simple enough - I didn't do the actual practical driving bit 'till a couple of weeks later. It involved a grand total of about ten minutes actual driving - round the block, one reverse park, one parallel park, one left junction, one right junction, one stop light, and one traffic light.. and we were done. :)

I am taking my driving test on Monday. I've had my Polish driver's license for over seven years now, if I fail, it will be a major embarassment for me ;)
