Hey all - I'm nearing case complete and interview time to finally get moved to live with my husband in the US.

My Canadian born son has been asking about whether I could petition him in once I'm LPR. He's single and over 21, just finishing at film school as a screenwriter.

I'm sure the question has been answered on here somewhere - but what are the time frames like for such a visa?? I believe it's an F2-B??

Just curious (and possibly insane LOL) and want to investigate it for him.

Thanks to all for answers/advice.

Namaste.

Thanks - so 7 years regardless of what country he comes from?? It would appear to me there are longer wait times for some countries due to higher fraud. Canada is not considered a high fraud country.

Just investigating the options.

Peace.

Some countries wait longer because of the huge numbers of petitions and the numbers from the country, it has nothing to do with fraud. If you have money to spare consider a student visa to have him here.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Thanks all. Would have been easier if we'd petitioned him last year - he turns 21 in November. But he didn't want to come last year. LOL

Sigh...kids.

Might still put the paper in play, can't hurt if there's no mad timeline for him to get to the US.

Have a nice weekend all.

:)
