About canceled interviews

OK, here is a quick summary of what has happened to me (so far ;) ). Got my first interview date in late December, this was canceled by snail mail a few weeks later, and then rescheduled to late January. Just a week ago a got another cancellation notice by email. Nothing by snail mail, so we decided we would go anyway (the day has not come yet).

As far as I know there are quite a few couples here in a similar situation... and I think I know what has really happened. The USCIS online case status system is a piece of #$%^. It frequently "confirms" things weeks or months later - we got an email that out K-1 petition got approved long after we received NOA2. So, the email I received must be about my FIRST interview, the one in December!

So, here is my advice to anyone who got a cancellation email, but has nothing on paper - GO ANYWAY! Being denied for abandoning your application is bad enough if you have proof that your interview was really canceled. If all you have is an email, you are sc**wed.

i had the same thing happen in May 2006, and decided the same. I couldnt figure out if the 2nd email was for the 1st cancellation or not, so we went. I never did find out the real story as they accepted us for the 2nd scheduled interview.

Don't know what the heck is going on with USCIS.

I got an interview letter (January 24th,2007)to go for my interview at Memphis which is like 3 hrs 30 min away from Nashville where i live

I got an e-mail saying it was cancelled.

I am going to go anyways.I am not going to go through a denial process.

Remember, an email by itself is worth nothing. I could easily send a fake USCIS email that 99.9% of the population would not distinguish from a real one.

better to showed up on the interview date or call USCIS first because sometimes it was an error... i read some applicant here who have cancellation notice but they still go for the day of interview and they interview her.. But for me i have also notice for interview and i showed up that day but they didn't interview me..they said my papers wan't there.

goodluck
