Wonder why the preznit doesn't have time to "do strategy" on ISIL?

President Obama has a busy Labor Day weekend planned as he leaves on Air Force One for New York later this afternoon.

Once in New York, President Obama is scheduled to attend two Democratic National Committee fundraisers in the area at private homes.

One of the fundraisers will be a Labor Day Barbecue, hosted by ex-UBS CEO Robert Wolf, who also golfed with the president on Martha's Vineyard during their vacation.

He will then travel abroad Air Force One to Newport, Rhode Island for a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee fundraiser with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

Saturday, President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are expected to attend the wedding of MSNBCs Alex Wagner to his personal White House Chef Sam Kass.

The wedding will be held at the Blue Hill at Stone Barns, a Westchester County farm-to-table restaurant in New Rochelle, New York.

After all that, he's off to a labor fundraiser.

What a shame he has so little time / interest in all that boring preznit stuff like "strategy".

From the Washington Post:

Polls have increasingly shown that Americans view Obama as a weak commander in chief without much direction or heft to his foreign policy. . . . And as a series of overseas foreign policy crises have popped up in recent years, the White House has remained largely hands-off — a decision that rightly or wrongly feeds the narrative of it not having a real strategy. And it certainly didn’t help that the White House set a so-called ‘red line’ of the Syrian government using chemical weapons on its people, but didn’t actually do anything when it crossed the red line. And then Obama goes and says something like he did Thursday.

Gosh: if WaPo is noticing...

From FrontPage magazine:

Obama has no strategy for ISIS, but he does have a strategy for shutting down every coal plant in America.

Obama has no strategy for dealing with Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, but he does have a strategy for mass illegal alien amnesty.

Obama has no strategy for defeating Islamic terrorism, he does however have a strategy for defeating the Republicans in the midterm elections.

Obama has no strategy for protecting the United States from Ebola, he does have a strategy for exploiting racial tensions in Ferguson.

Obama has no strategy for rescuing Christians women from ISIS rape prisons, he does have a strategy for convincing single women that Christian organizations should be paying for their birth control.

Obama has no strategy for stopping Iran from getting the bomb, but he does have a strategy for stopping anyone from making YouTube videos mocking Mohammed. (Send them to prison.)

Obama has no strategy for protecting the United States, but he has a strategy for maximizing his time golfing, fundraising and partying.

It’s not that Obama doesn’t have a strategy or isn’t capable of forming one. It’s that he reserves those strategies for the things that he truly cares about.

Stopping ISIS or Putin isn’t one of them.

As President of the United States, not having a strategy for a situation that may directly affect your country is bad enough, but understandable given the complexities of the situation(s).

Telling the world you don't have a strategy is mind-numbingly stupid.

Don't interrupt me when I'm talking to myself

No no no no no; you've got it all wrong. O'bama's doing the quadruple switcheroo on these jihadists. He's really that brilliant.

No.

The likelihood is that he is inviting hostile action to be carried out against the USA. That is simply reckless.

If you have no strategy, stay silent and let your opponent worry about what you're up to.

It reminds me of the Administration making public that there was an unsuccessful rescue mission mounted for James Foley. You just don't do that, unless it goes so horribly wrong that you can't hide it, like the Iran mission in 1979. If it doesn't pan out, say nothing. That way, you don't broadcast your intelligence failures, you don't advertise Executive hesitation and you don't deal a blow to the morale of your Special Forces personnel.

Over-sharing on the world stage is always a bad idea. <_<

Yep. Up 'til about a year ago, I couldn't decide whether the preznit was a fool or a knave: A fool with no real-world experience of how international relations work and the consequences of his alienation of longstanding allies and his glad-handing with folks who openly wish us harm, or a knave who's fully aware of the consequences of his actions and is intent only on wreaking as much havoc during his term of office as possible.

The answer's crystal clear now: knave. <_<

The federal government wishes to encroach on more of your individual liberties and it wishes to do so with your conscious assent. In fact, it wishes to do so at your invitation.

What would be the reaction of the people of this country if ISIS cells took a Dearborn neighborhood hostage and started converting Christians to Islam at swordpoint?

You guessed it.

I heard that Czechoslovakia has weapons of mass destruction, I think that's who we should attack next.

The U.S. probably gave them the weapons.

I'm serious. The President withdrew from Iraq because the tide of public opinion was against it - being pro war in 2008 and 2012 was a deeply unpopular view.

Noone has gone into Syria for obvious reasons. Whether the west should go in there is another matter - after all, its at least partly linked to Iraq and illustrates why the whole thing has been a disaster for the region.
