F2A upgrading to IR1/CR1 petition in NVC

Hello Guys, my hubby got his citizenship and mailed the copy of his naturalization certifcate and copy of our NOA2 to NVC last august 21. NVC confirmed they have received our request letter. Yesterday my husband called them to ask if they already upgraded my petition from f2a to cr1/ir1. They told us to wait atleast 30 business day and atleast 10 days to upgrade it. I dont understand why we have to wait within 30days. Is it standard answer that they can give to us whatever we are asking to them. I hope you could share your experience on this. Thank you! Dg

Hi Mrs.B,

I had the same experience and i was told to wait same 30 bizness day. while waiting the NVC change the wait time in August to 60 days for any documentation processing with their offfice. They notified me of this change and i got case complete in 55days and that same week i got an email saying my upgrade has been effected. As a matter of fact when i called to get case complete i was told my case has been upgraded and treated as an IR not a F2A.

Hang in there, its a standard response just a little more time.

Hi thanks for your sharing. Actually, we still waiting to upgrade the petition before we can move to the next step like to fill up ds 261 and paying aos fee. I hope we could start to do these soon. Good luck to you! And thanks again

Still waiting to upgrade the petition. The NVC emailed back to me last week that our request is currently under review. Atleast they have been touched our request. I am more positive next week they will upgrade the petition . Its our 37 days now. Good luck to us guys!

Hi Sivin. I think it was upgraded but there is no formal letter from NVC. We had received a welcome letter and proceed to the next step last Sept 29, 2014. But i had already filled up the da261 choice of agent. And now we had received an email from NVC that we can pay now the fees. thanks God!

Hi im in the same situation. My case got approved on 27 February 2014 on California service center and sent to nvc. Its been there since march. I was a LPR that time and now I recently became a USC and on the same day i send a copy of naturalization certificate n noa2 and waiting them to upgrade my case . No idea how long i needto wait to hear from them so tired of waiting n hard to be away from beloved ones.hi mrs B is ur case completed now how long u wait to hear from them.

Have you called NVC and checked about this? Got any email from them as they hv got ur request?
