Hi all,

I desperately need some help here, it's IR1 case but not K1.

I receive the P4 letter, and it shows the interview data and time in the letter as shown below:

================================================================================

Interview Date and Time
================================================================================
An immigrant visa interview is scheduled for YXXXXXXXX XX and any eligible derivative applicants (see
applicants eligible to attend the interview below) at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in GUANGZHOU
ELECTRONIC, CHINA - MAINLAND on September 16, 2014 at 07:45 am.
However, Guangzhou using the new CGI Stanley System for appointment, The CGI Stanley System is the new system that was implemented March 16, 2013.
Here is the quote from CGI : "All immigrant and K visa categories require an interview appointment. When an immigrant visa petition is approved and the applicant’s case is ready to be scheduled for an interview, beneficiaries will be contacted by the U.S. Consulate General Guangzhou with further instructions on how to schedule an appointment. If the Consulate has not notified you that your case is ready to be scheduled, you will not be able to access this function through CGI Stanley. To schedule an appointment for immigrant visas including the following categories, please visit this page.
  • IR/CR/IW, K-1, and K-3 visas
  • Family (F) and Employment (E) visas
  • Second Interview for Returning Resident (SB-1)"

I am really confuse here, do i need to make interview appointment with CGI even I have an appointment already?

Please, any one know?

You have an appointment letter. CGI says "...beneficiaries will be contacted by the U.S. Consulate General..." If you have a written appointment letter, I would think that overrides any requirements from CGI.

Wouldn't the CGI system apply to a first-time applicant...not someone who already has their interview appointment?

I don't think you need an appointment through CGI right now. You've got an appointment letter, in writing, telling you where and when to appear. I think you're all set. Remember to be early. Good luck.

Regards,
Bill

sorry, GGI/Stanly assume no EP , when writing the instructions, so it's a boondoggle.

you have interview letter, interview appointment.

HOWEVER - still must register with CGI/Stanley/ ustraveldocs.com/cn , get a document delivery coversheet generated,

as

it's required to turn in on interview day.

what's it for? visa packet delivery, back to the CITIC Bank location that you've chosen, via CITIC Bank Courier, after the visa packet is generated in Guangzhou.

But no, not need to schedule anything via CGI/Stanley/ustraveldocs.com at all.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
