Ahh 1996 .. I was a freshman in high school then and that's also the year when I was introduced to the music of ............... Spice Girls!

After pondering for many months, in 1996, I left a stable job with a big company,

and took cuts in pay, benefits, and all other perks to join a small start up company.

I was employee number 5, and I wore at least 5 different hats.

There were days when we were just about running out of money and wondered

if my next paycheck will come or not.

I worked hard as I could to keep the company float and few years later,

we made it to the Nasdaq listing.

In 1996, I was a blushing bride, living in Britain and still writing aerogrammes back home to my parents. I was applying to grad schools in the US and the UK. I also think it was the last year my weight was in the double digits -- I remember wearing a J Crew size 2. In today's vanity sizing, that's probably a 00. I remember Oasis and Blur being the background to just about everything.
