rebeccajo, so sorry for what you are going through and how much this process is taking a toll. So many of us would hate to see you go, but it's certainly understandable (and I'm all too aware of all the others who have recently chosen to leave VJ as well). You've given a ton to this board and helped a zillion people. Wishing you and your husband the best of luck.

I echo kitkat's comments...

And so he did what countless punk-rock songs had told him to do so many times before: he lived his life

10/07/2006 WEDDING DAY!

11/14/2006 AOS packet made it to 'the box' after being overnighted.

12/02/2006 Paul had biometrics

12/14/2006 AOS Forwarded to CSC AND AP Application approved.

01/17/2007 First touch of 2007 at CSC

01/20/2007 Touched AGAIN (also the 18th) come on...

February: Oops, RFE for a REGISTERED marriage certificate. Oops! Overnighted it.

02/28/2007 Paul gets email letting us know his GREENCARD is on it's way! It's done...for now!

03/09/2007 Paul's greencard arrives. And breathe...

We began with mailing the I-129 in on February 27, 2006 so the whole process took us approx. one year.

Good luck out there!

Congratulations!

WOOHOO!

We received our approval email today. What a short timeline! And no interview. Did they take pity on us for being an IMBRA recall case? Or did we have the "perfect" application (which I think we did ;-) ?

Did you get the medical form filled out in France before coming to the US and submit with the AOS? Or did you do the medical here in the US and send in the sealed envelope with the AOS application?

My husband had his medical in France. His sealed envelope went to the POE immi, but he had a copy of his DS-3025 from the Paris doctor which was used for the info transfer to the I-693A.

Cheers!

That is wonderful American Woman! I am so happy for you. I am preparing my husband (yes, we got married on Tuesday, 3 years to the day we met) AOS papers. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have been reading the steps for AOS, etc., but please let me know if there is anything extra that you did. I appreciate all the help that you gave us during the interview at the French embassy.

It is great to see that the recall IMBRA's are receiving their green cards. I hope that some of your French luck rubs off on me. Ha Ha Ha!

I won't be able to take a honeymoon because I am pregnant. (He works fast doesn't he?) I have learned not to stress as much and we are settling into our life together here in the USA.

Shayrene!

OMG! Congratulations! Yes, he and YOU work fast. It's wonderful!

Here is some info on our AOS app:

I think the most important thing we did was double check everything. We read the application instructions and the VJ info twice just to be sure we didn't miss anything. And when we made our final copy, we did a "run through", comparing what we had to our cover letter.

We set up the cover letter so they could easily see the list of applications and support documents, etc. Everything inside was in order to the list. The applications (AOS, AP, EAD) were seperated from each other with post-it tabs with the application type written at the top to be in view. My husband even post-it tabbed his passport pages with entries into the US! Here is the letter:

A# 000000000 / SS# 000 00 0000

Some other notes:

My husband already had an SS# as he was here previously on a J1 work visa.

Photos were put into ziplock bags with white labels on them with his name, A# and SS# (this info was also written on the back of the photos). I used the white labels cuz writing doesn't really show up on the clear plastic.

We almost sent in the DS-3025 instead of the I-693A due to difficulty finding a reasonably priced CV, but then thought better of it and got the I-693A done. I got the feeling sending the DS-3025 would scream RFE, even though some people have gotten through with only the 3025.

The copies of employer and bank letters were from our K-1, supported with current documents. I couldn't deal with getting updated letters for the I-864.

I really think the best we did for it was the organization. I think it makes their job easier and in some way they appreciate it. I would! It might also determine if you get transferred to CSC. I get the sense the "good" apps are being sent there, hence the quick, non-interview approvals that people are getting.

Bonne Chance! And please tell your husband I say "congrats, Daddy!"

a plus,

amwo ~~~~~~~~~ sending you some good French juju!

Your list is very helpful and of course organization is extemely important.

It has, however, nothing to do with being transferred to California.

yup and another post stating perfecto applications get sent to CSC! Wow these posts are everywhere! its like insinuating because I had an interview (AND got a name hit) I somehow failed to read the instructions carefully! the fact that people who get RFE's also get transferred kinda puts a kink in that thought process.

I am Sam!

I know our application was flawless - the BCINS officer told us last time we visited. Yet, we have been waiting since late November 2004 without as much as an interview. It is all a big cloud of retardation at the BCINS. Depending upon if your application is lucky to hit a person with a semblance of an IQ you may get your application processed efficiently, properly and effectively.

Firing squad at dawn is my reccomendation. First she got her green card super fast and then secondly she "guessed" at something and said it "might" be the reason. In between there she was "lighthearted" about her green card and non appreciative of how it will more than likely keep her from being deported next time she decides to exceed the speed limit a bit and gets caught........time to take her out!

Oh and she's writing things in French, that's probably frowned upon too.
