Once again, it's my turn to put on the silly question cap, being that I'm three weeks away from going to Bala to move my fiancee. I already did it with my money post, and this time it's another question about our POE. What do they give you back that's in the magicaly sealed envelope? I rememeber reading that they give you your evidence back, but what else? Thanks.

They don't give you anything back at the POE. They take the sealed envelope and they keep all of its contents.

Hopefully, you received a copy of the Vaccination Worksheet from the K-1 medical exam. You will need that during the AOS process. The Civil Surgeon in the U.S. can transfer the information from the Worksheet onto the Vaccination Supplement, which is necessary for the AOS application.

The doctor in Vancouver gives you a copy of the Worksheet at the medical exam. Is that where she had hers done?

In any case, wherever she had the medical exam done, I would definitely call them and request a copy of the "Vaccination Worksheet".

It makes getting the Vaccination Supplement so much easier when the time comes. The Civil Surgeon we found in Seattle only charged us $35.00 to transfer the information from the worksheet onto the Supplement.

Yeah she can call them. My fiance got that done after the medical as well, just call and they'll have her pick it up.

The consulate will give you your originals back. As for the vaccination supplement just call the place you got the medical done.

her birthcertificate shouldn't be in that sealed envelope, at least not the official copy of it. If it is, she'll have to order another copy from the provincinal registrar. She can't open that envelope, and they may not take the time to make a photocopy for her so she can have her original back.

Don't give originals to government employees except at the passport office. They don't give 'em back!

In the instructions for the form they warned that documents submitted as evidence will not be returned. That is why copies of documents were accepted.

Okay, she has a copy of her birth cert. It was a long form copy that we submitted, the one the government wants everyone to get. I got a little nervous there.

Long form birth certificates are pretty easy to get I think in most provinces. I got mine by applying online (Ontario) and just called my guarantor (my vet ) to confirm that I could put him down.
