I'll be in the morning ceremony and my husband is coming with me.

How about you?

I will be in the afternoon ceremony and I am also taking my husband. I am so happy!

I got a call from the officer from Santa Ana office telling me that my ceremony would be cancelled and they would need more time to check my background  I received a letter from them 2 days ago stated that they would reschedule another ceremony after they confirm my eligibility. I felt heartbroken for the whole day. I have been a good citizen without any violation or arrest for the whole of my life, and I have been contributing my time to universities and community so I don't know why they need more time to do background check. :(

Does any of you change your name? My husband said that because I would like to change my name, sometimes they would need more time to check the background.

Im sorry to hear about the delay of your eligibility. I passed my test and interview. Im not sure if my case is similar to yours though. My GC is different from my current legal name. I got married and changed all my gov ID. When i applied for N-400 i submitted proof of my current legal name, copy of SS, DL, W2. IO just asked and confirmed them. I didnt have a problem. The IO was very nice. Waiting for Oath to be scheduled.

Thanks. I am hoping so. Congrats to those who became US citizens yesterday!

Hi,

Don't worry, you're almost there!

I'm sure you'll be scheduled 8/19 oath ceremony.

I know somebody who applied December and hasn't received even an interview notice yet...

Your case is not in trouble like this, so just a little more patience.

We all pray for you the oath ceremony to be scheduled soon??
