Hi everyone!

We will be sending in our K1 application in late September or early October.

After looking around on here I have noticed that the Texas Service center is taking a lot longer to process the I-29F's. I tried to look through forums before asking and I apologize if this has already been asked but what determines which Service Center your application gets sent to?

Thank you for all your answers! I just can't wait to get the application started and to start the whole process!

Hello,

Sorry to inform, but you cannot choose your service center. Also from what I have read here sometimes Texas is faster, sometimes California is. When we filed in January I was very happy they sent us to Texas because it was showing average processing time of 50 days.... we got approved after 178 days.

They have transferred some cases from Texas to California, hopefully that will balance things out.

Yes I knew I wouldn't be able to choose I was just wondering how exactly they determine what goes where? Is it random or is there an actual process?

Hoping to be lucky enough to have ours sent to whichever center is currently moving the fastest!

The petitioner's state of residence determines which service centre processes the I-129F.

It depends on where the petioner lives.

I read it depends on the state where the petitioner is from. Hopefully somebody here will have more detailed information. I checked k1 timelines from people from Mexico and most of them got NOA2 really fast, they were all processed in California, where the petitioners were from...

They do that according to the state you reside. The eastern part of the US goes to Texas and the western - to California.

I-130 Sent : 2015-07-10 - sent from abroad, auto-expedite

I-130 NOA1 : 2015-07-14

I-130 Approved : 2015-08-13 (30 days)

Ok I'm confused. When I last investigated this I-129F process in 2009, only the CSC and VSC were processing Fiancee visa applications. However it now appears that TSC is processing them too? And it also appears to lag far behind the others. Is that correct? And if TSC is processing I-129Fs, then much of this thread wouldn't apply any longer because the list I saw in the link didn't include TSC. Confusing ....

9/11/14 - NOA1 Email and text message received
9/15/14 - NOA1 Official notice date
9/18/14 - NOA1 hard copy received
12/9/14 - "Updated" likely because of website repairs, like many of us received
4/20/15 - NOA2 text and email (221 days)

4/29/15 - Sent to the NVC (9 days)

5/8/15 - Arrived at the NVC (9 days)

5/13/15 - Left the NVC (5 days)

5/15/15 - Electronic version arrived at the embassy (2 days)

5/20/15 - Paper copy arrived at the embassy (7 days)

6/4/15 - Status changed to AP (which meant that we could schedule the interview)

6/16/15 - Medical

Hmmmm....ok thanks for the reply but I am even more confused now. If TSC assumed the jurisdiction for VSC WRT I-129Fs, then why does VJ still report processing times for the VSC I-129Fs here?

I live in Austin, so it appears that my petition would go to TSC, which isn't good if they're so far behind.

I found if you enter the petitioner's zip code here https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=offices.type&OfficeLocator.office_type=SC (( at the bottom of the page )) it will tell you what Service Center that state is sent to.... my husband is in Michigan and it said we can expect our petition to be sent to Nebraska :P but with the possibility of transfers - who knows?! LOL
