and then Negro became the proper word. Then that when out and colored was ok. Then that was offesive, and we had to say black, now if you are really a person of compassion you say African American. Unelss you are the preznit, and want to pretend you are talking about all minoties, then you can say young men of color.

I wonder what term will not be acceptable in 30 years.

I'm hoping that someday we'll all just be people. And we can hate each other for good reasons instead of skin color, religion or nationality.

Amen. I try my best to not let my past experiences cloud my future, but I have had a gullet full of Racism Racism racism as the culprit for every black person in jail and all the ills that affect the black culture.

I don't condone racism and will speak out loudly if I encounter it, but my ears are getting deaf to the cry of Wolf Wolf

I know people that use the word for anyone of Asian decent. The same ones that use the N word and derogatory terms for every nationality except their own. Most of them are Republicans.

You gave a good insight and perspective where your view and opinions came from while you were growing up. Racism is learned. You also did a good job explaining your prejudices and why you weren't racist. I gained a lot of respect for you that night. I mean that sincerely.

3. I have to check the dictionary again, but I think you pass the racism test because you said 95%. If you said all vote Democrat, that would be racist.

I would not normally participate in these kind of threads but I watched the video.

As somebody who still struggles everyday to communicate efficiently in English ( my brain is still wired in Spanish)

It looks to me like the reporter was asking the guy Why are you here? and maybe What do you think of this people now? clearly worried about how to ask the question in English.

The guy who was not bleeding is the one who said (disguised in a kind attempt of help) Are you racist? and she said "yeah" but i feel like she had no idea what just happened. I think the 2 guys went on because they just could not let go a chance to say the speech that they may have dreamed to say for a long time. Her face and the rest of what she said tells me she did not understand much on what was being said. Maybe she was not ready for an interview in English just yet.

At about 8 seconds in she clearly says "Are you a racist", then when asked to confirm if that's what she said, she answered yes and shook her head. Not only that she allowed that line of questioning and back and forth to continue without attempting to correct it. She said it and she got it handed back to her.
