You should call and ask to speak with a Tier 2 Officer, a Tier 1 (the first people you speak to) can only see what you see online. A tier 2 can look into your case more in depth. You will have a long wait on the phone, if you opt into the "call back" service (via a US number) you will NOT lose your place in line, and they will call you back a few minutes before your turn in line. :)

Don't rely too heavily on the electronic system when it comes to the USCIS process, I didn't get notice until 3 days after they shipped it, some don't get any notice at all.

Hello,

I got my NOA2 on 19th august and i m still waiting for a status to change abt shiped to NVC, is there anyone with the same approval date shiped to NVC? Mine was approved in california service centre.

It can take between 2 - 5 weeks from receipt of NOA2 hard copy for NVC to process and assign a case number to an approved I-129f.

Try contacting NVC in about 10 business days from your NOA2 date to see if they have your case file already: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/nvc/nvc-contact-information.html

sweet cakes is correct, its been a while since I was at that stage so I forgot that... it takes a few weeks to get shipped out to NVC. You can still call a Tier 2, but they'll likely just tell you what sweet cakes told you.

If you don't hear anything 10 days after the 5 week period call a Tier 2 IO. They should be able to give you a more in depth response. This process is LONG. Patience is key. We applied April 2013, and he's just now got his visa in hand.

If you don't mind me asking, why did yours take so long?

It took forever to get the paperwork that was required together. South America makes getting official records complicated. Even when we managed to get everything together, they were not the "right kinds" and we had to re-do the medical because it expired. It may be different for you, but it's still a long ride either way.

Usually USCIS send approved visa in batch. mine was sent to NVC along with other's approval from late July; as matter of fact, for all of us that were shipped on mid august all dates (shipped to NVC, assigned case number and transferred to consulate were the same)

Start getting worry if a month has passed and they have not sent it.
