Hi JohnThailandJohn thanks again for your time and response :)

You are correct about the therapist giving him a "mental disorder" diagnosis...we assume for alcoholism. The Consulate left us and our attorney in the dark on the details...we were told nothing regarding the evaluation, and denied access to the therapist evaluation. I feel I know my husband well enough, and being in recovery myself for 16 years I do not see that he has developed a dependency on alcohol as he can drink...or not drink...even take a drink out of a beer and leave it! This has not been my experience with alcohol nor anyone I know in recovery lol. :bonk:

Seeing this possible diagnosis as the reason my husband was denied re-entry into the USA...as he has no other charges against him...I suggested he stop drinking altogether and begin attending recovery meetings...keeping signed attendance papers for immigration (this I learned from being a counselor in the field of corrections). My husband has been attending meetings 2 to 3 times a week, and has been sober since his Consulate interview in October 2015. God works in mysterious ways, and I am grateful he now understands that no one wins the game with King Alcohol. :diablo:

Thank you for the link to read. I really, really appreciate that you took the time to answer my post...God bless you and your family :D

Hello. Ok, so I just checked the uscis webpage on processing dates. They just did an update.

Nebraska Service Center was on August 16,2016 as of January 31, 2016.

NOW it says that as of February 29, 2016 they are on August 16, 2016.

It didn't advance a single day!!!!!!!

WOW this IS frustrating!!!

Has anyone submitted or had their case submitted for a I-601 (NOT an I-601A) through the National Benefits Center (also known as MSC) instead of the Nebraska Service Center?
Any idea what the processing time is for MSC? I've been waiting since mid September 2015, still no response.

Yes. I don't know what's going on but there has been no movement on our case or the others that I monitor for weeks now. Did NSC go on extended vacation?

On April 4, 2016, your inquiry about why your case is taking longer than our processing time, referral number SR*******NSC, was assigned to an officer for response.

I sent a case inquiry was wondering if anyone else has done the same and gotten this response...if so about how long do they take to respond back?

Thankyou

Thanks guys for great information. I learned so much from this thread.

I applied for 601 waiver for my husband on July 30th 2016 and still waiting. I actually sent the package to Texas Service Center with 485 form but after 6 months later they got transferred to Nebraska Service Center.

Really hoping to hear good news soon. It's been almost 9 month! I am scared to send a service request for the possibility that it might trigger a RFE.

karladiaz90, No I haven't sent inquiry yet but my husband wants to contact his senator first. I will like to know if the inquiry actually works? I really hope they put the wrong date on their updated Processing Times page. That just means they can take as long as they want on processing form and we just have to keep waiting without actually having a time frame. am I wrong?

Sounds like you got that same adjudicator as us. USCIS didn't call us but sent an RFE for a new medical. Still waiting for a waiver answer. I wish they'd call me!!
