I have my 1601 receipt date may 7 just checked the CEAC website it shows refused but with status update 8/21/15. Does anybody know what this means?

What do you check CEAC website for? That is a question for everybody - I see a lot of people refer to it a lot, but shouldn't USCIS be updated first? With "approved" status hopefully.... CEAC says refused and stays so until Embassy gets your i601 approval back - is that right? Then if USCIS status did not change yet, nothing should be reflected on CEAC side also as I see it....

I just noticed people checking that as well so I just checked it to see what will show. But honestly I think the same. I guess we wait for so long to hear ANY sort of news that we check stuff that doesn't even pertain to in hopes of any sort of response. I guess I'll just have to patiently wait for a response from USCIS. Thank for your opinion

Whats really going on with regular i 601 waivers. Not seeing much movement eventhough they say the are up to date with 4 months processing times

Yep it seems slower now. @Jazzy2015 Have you or anyone else in this thread tried to make an e-request for cases outside normal processing times?

If did then does it help. Pls share your experience

@hatedawait, we've done it all, we have contacted USCIS by phone, contacted a senator, etc. I have tried on several opportunities to submit an inquiry online but the system tells us that the application is still within current processing times, our file date was March 12.

Hello everyone, I just wanted to share the news, my waiver finally got approved today, September 3, 2015. My filing date was March 12, 2015. Now I will have to wait for the Embassy in Montreal to contact me. I'm so excited and relieved. These have been longest 4.5 months of my life!

Very happy for you. (By the way, that was 5.5 months since March 12.)

We're a March 5th receipt date... and still waiting. There's been no updates at all with our case. We contacted one of my senator's offices. They put in an inquiry. It came back about 4 days later saying "it was assigned to an officer" (that was a week ago, now). Nothing.

I was finally able to submit an online inquiry for our case. That came back this week. It also said, "assigned to an officer".

But, yet, nothing has changed. Someone at NSC, please go check on the guy in the back cubicle. I think he's dead.
