We have actually contacted a Senator from New Mexico, we sent a written request on Wednesday. The Senator's office contacted both, my husband and I today to request additional information from us. I am surprised how quickly they responded to us. Hopefully it helps!!!

We made a second attempt at contacting USCIS last week for some answers. The first-level rep agreed that our case was "outside the normal processing times" and (after some technical glitches with his system) forwarded us to a second-tier representative. The second-tier rep was able to say that someone had looked at our case on August 10th (even though the "last updated" date on their website has not changed). He also said that they were currently working submissions that were received on March 2, 2015 (ours was received March 5, 2015) and said that we should hear something within days. But, he had a differing opinion and said ours was within normal processing times. (How he could say that, faced with the obvious fact that it isn't, is beyond me.)

Here we are a week later, and absolutely nothing has changed. No "last updated" changes in either CEAC or USCIS sites, no change in status... nothing.

So, I just sent the privacy release forms for both myself and my fiancee to one of my two senators, along with a copy of the current processing times and a brief message explaining the situation, and asking for their assistance in finding the true status and helping the process along. I'll post back any feedback we get.

We have hopes that this will nudge something along, but I'm not holding my breath.

We received confirmation from our Senator that they have contacted USCIS and that they will notify us as soon as they get a response...we'll see what they can do!

Touched base with my senator's office today and asked if there were any updates. He said, "Not yet. Usually it's about thirty days, but the Nebraska Service Center is usually fast with these things... in a couple of weeks."

Two weeks to ask someone a question (or just look on a computer screen) and get an answer on the status of something is "fast"? Only in government.

*sigh*

Any bets that the reply will be the usual "it's within normal processing times" BS?

I've lost all faith in this entire process.

@efrabenс, that's good news so far...what was your file date, sorry for bothering you though

Hello bubcka777, it's no bother at all, I think that's why all end up here, to share what we've been through and hopefully encourage others. I filed my I-601 on March 12. Our Senator wrote back and said they have filed the inquiry on our behalf. This wait gets to you, but I guess it's part of the process, someone posted here before that you have to keep busy, that is the best advice I heard. I started new projects at work, reconnected with friends, etc.It makes a huge difference in your mental well being.

I need to submitt I-601, because of a crime comitted 11 years ago and sentenced (to fines only!- NO jail time). Crime of Moral Turpitude, as they are calling it.
Have yet not submitted it.

Anyone out there who have same criminal record? And how long did it take you to get OK from State dept.?
Ps. I reside in a Scandinavian country.
