I would contact the embassy. Ours only took a few days because I was on top of them..and ours was emailed to both of us.

When you contacted the embassy, did you just tell them that your waiver was approved or did you send them a copy of the approval notice as well ?

We received an instruction letter (email) yesterday (approved Jul 1st) on the next steps. It took a week from date of approval to receiving the instruction letter. We've been asked to get a new police certificate and redo the medical as both have expired. Once we have the certificate, we should call a number for the courier to pick up passport and certificate.

Does the police certificate have and experation day ? Did you go for your interview already?

Yes the police certificate has an expiration date. It's valid for 6months in the UK. We weren't asked to come for another interview.

According to their website, police certificates are valid for 12 months. But then again, in the medical portion of their website, it says the medical examination requires one issued in the last six months. Nothing like clarity, huh?

Police Certificates for the United Kingdom: If you have resided in the United Kingdom for 6 months or more since the age of 16, you are required to obtain a police certificate from the ACPO Criminal Records Office (ACRO). Further information is available from their website at www.acro.police.uk.

Note: UK police certificates are valid for 12 months only. Failure to present all necessary and valid police certificates at the time of the interview will incur significant delays to your application.

Yes you are right. It's 12 months. We obtained police report and interviewed April 2013, which is over 2 years ago.
