We got the visa via DHL about 3 weeks after instruction letter. ***OJO**ATTENTION** My wife did not have to go back to CDJuarez for a new medical exam or additional interview BUT the VISA arrived on June 4th and EXPIRED June 12th!! We had only 8 days to get to the border! The time clock was ticking because they gave her Medical Exam Dec. 12th....to June 12..=6 months! Our lawyer never mentioned this and it put a BIG strain on us, we were all happy she didnt have to go do another medical in CDJ, flights, food, etc..$$, and then they eat up all this time "processing" and then you have to get the flock out of dodge in a hurry, not cool at all. Deported from America and deported from Mexico! Ha! In the end, at least she is done and got papers. 4 years later! :)

Our receipt date for the 601 and 212 is January 26 2015. I was looking up other cases in the app until I got locked out and there is a case date of January 16 2015 that hasn't been touched either. It's been almost six months, hope it won't take much longer. The separation sucks!

8/14/2013 - Fiancé was asked to report to ICE Indianapolis, paperwork was found to be out of date, held for deportation

10/8/2013 - Fiancé was deported back to Germany

1/2014 - I-129F filed for K-1 Visa

3/19/14 - I-129F approved for K-1 Visa

6/2014 - K-1 Visa denied at Frankfurt Embassy (advised to file I-601/I-212 waivers)

1/26/15 - Receipt date for I-601/I-212 Waivers, still waiting...

I just found out I need to file a solo 212. Russell&Maria and jcastrat, did you file your 601 and 212s after an embassy visa interview, or is that a different process?

I filed the k1 visa and we went to the interview in Frankfurt. My fiancé was refused and we were instructed to file both waivers after that. This process has taken over a year for us. I hope to have an approval soon for both.

Yes, Maria had to go through the initial visa interview process in CDJ to get told that she was denied the visa but eligible to file the 212 and 601 waivers. You can prepare the forms in advance but you still have to be told by a consular officer that you are eligible to file the waiver. Unfortunately in addition to paying the visa fee, you also have to have the medical exam done at an approved clinic which is only good for 6 months. If it takes over 6 months to have your 212 adjudicated, you will have to have another medical exam which was $220.00 USD.
