I have been following the thread and decided to make an account, I have read your posts and have a smiliar situation, my husband was also given a 1 year ban last year in Oct 2015 due to a dui, we are still waiting on the approval of the i601, he completed his second medical exam last month, my question is have they requested from you a new ds-260 or affidavit of support do they schedule a new apt at the consulate? I want to know what happens next in case they approve the i601, I asked my lawyer but he said he doesnt know ??

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to give an update...our case was updated on USICS.gov this afternoon...my husband's 601 wavier was approved on 10/24/16. Yes! Finally! Now we wait for the Consulate to receive the approval from USICS, and the letter that "gives instructions" (hopefully we won't have to go back to Juarez for another interview...fingers crossed). I will keep you all posted. Hang in there! I am praying for you and your families )

Joy

What kind of evidence they did request if you don't mind me asking? I hope my case does not require additional information.

they wanted proof of hardship such as emotional, financial, medical. all on myself

Ours took 2 months to get approved after the RFE response was received.

i submitted an inquiry today. it mark 1 month since they received the RFE.

What do you mean your case is on hold?? Do you mean it's just "case received" mode? I was running numbers like crazy on the uscis website and there is someone waiting from last year ?. I really hope you get your approval soon.

It will change online first after the approval you will receive a letter in the mail about 7-10 business days later. I check my status everyday online sometimes twice ?

My husband was given a 1 year ban because of a dui, we submitted a new i-601 back in April and then in Mid August we received a letter stating they placed they case on hold while they get a non-uscis advisory they contacted the consulate in order for them to give a new second opinion he needed to get a new medical exam done, we called the medical place in Juarez and he was told he needed to wait until Oct to go in for the new medical, he got it done on Oct 3 the consulate responded to uscis on Oct 13 but they still have the case on hold I tried submitting a case inquiry but not sure if it was sent because I get a message stating that its within normal processing time ? Thank you I am so ready to get done with this its been a though year :(

I'm very sorry to read that. The good thing is that you weren't denied, it's just a long wait. My cousin had a similar story with her husband but he did everything inside the Us. So for her it was faster than me, but yea he had a few Dui's. My husband is clean and even left voluntarily before we even got married so I thought that it would be fast for him, but no :( . My husband also has a friend in Tj going through the same thing that you guys are. I guess we just have to wait. As long as we don't get NO's let's keep hopes up. :)
