I don't think that the lunatic fringe is defined by race. I live in an area that is largely white, including most of the towns in the immediate area. The nuts I encounter are 99% white. If I go closer to Brockton or Boston, I think the percentages even out a bit.

I'm south of Boston, but it's still a mostly white area for a few towns in this area. We have more Nepalese, Indians and Brazilians than blacks out this way.
