Hey everyone!

My fiance and I are now married (a week ago) after getting a K-1 YAYYY. Everything for the AOS is ready to go except this stupid I-864 form. I am a full time graduate student and currently have no income (did not file income taxes for 2013 but I have them from 2011 and 2012 for the little bit of money I made on the side). I kept my permanent address as my parent's place in NY...NY license, etc but now that I am married and we have to get him car insurance I'm being told I should transfer my license and registration over to PA. Should I wait to do one or the other first? Does it matter? Because it will affect my "Place of Residence" address in part 4 as well as the household count in part 5 and 6...plus my parents claimed me as a dependent on their taxes because they still support me partially. What do they put on their forms?

My parents are sponsoring, but my dad makes way over the amount needed, so should I just use him to cut down on paperwork? Does he fill out I-864 or I-864A? I am filling out the I-864 for myself and have some questions: Part 5, 6 and 7 are mostly where I am confused. Part 5: do I include my parents on #7? Part 6: I check unemployed but do I write anywhere that I am a student? I don't want them to think I'm just a bum -_- Do I include my parents in #6a and #7a?

AHHHH please help!

Use your residential address on the I-864 and all the other AOS forms where it asks. Your local USCIS office where you will have to go for biometrics, and possibly an interview, is based on where you live.

You will not include your parents in your household size, just you and your spouse. You check Unemployed and will need to include a statement as to why you were not legally required to file taxes for 2013.

Your dad fills out his own separate I-864 and will include your spouse, his spouse, and you because they claimed you on their taxes, plus any other dependents they may have Your mom fills out an I-864A to go along with your dad's I-864.

Thanks for your response! Do you think my mom needs to fill out the I-864A or should we just use my dad? They do file taxes jointly though...

Follow KayDeeCee's advice:

Good luck on your immigration journey.
