Hi all, so i am working on my i-134 form and am a bit confused about what proof i should take to the embassy with my fiance (i am the petitioner and attending the interview with my fiance).. I understand the proof of relationship is necessary; however, what about my income?

do i need to take my income tax returns? if so, how many years worth?

bank statements? if so, how many months/years worth?

is my w2 necessary?

any replies would be appreciated. thanks!

During my interview, we brought a completed I-134, 3 most recent years of ITR, 6 months worth of W2, recent pay slips (6 months), letter from employer, and proof of how much money he had in the bank.

They looked at all of this, but only took a copy of his most recent ITR. They gave me back the W2. They also took my copy of his employers letter.

Bring everything you can so that you are prepared if they ask for anything.

Here is the interview instructions for New Delhi:

Hi!

First of all, good luck with the interview!

As for proof of support, I brought last 3 tax returns, w-2, letter from employer, several pay stubs, I-134, all that just in case. They say in most cases you only need your last tax return, but bring 3 last just to be sure.

Also, it's important to know where the interview will be because different consulates ask for different things.

The CO that interviewed me didn't ask to see any of the things I brought to prove my then fiance could sponsor me, not even the I-134.

Good luck!

Hi I have a related question. The last 2 tax returns of mine are fine, but the 3rd shows my income for the year at around 5,000 USD. I was in school at that time and didn't have a full time job. Should I just bring the 2 years? Do they require an explanation for why I made so little? I was thinking maybe it'd be better to not include it. Feedback appreciated!

I'm not intending to hijack the thread, but I have a question as well. I make more than enough money (although in my head, I don't make enough for two people to live off of if you want decent stuff and vehicles) anyway...

I have my IRS paper, he will print out recent check stubs from my company's website (I gave him my login info) and I'm going to mail him my W-2 when I send him the affidavit of support. Do I need a letter from my employer still, even with all the other information?

I am the petitioner.

No. Everyone should check out what is required for their own consulate. The procedures and requirements vary between various consulates. In your case, you just need what is required for London > http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/474161-london-k1-a-complete-guide/
