watch the video in the link if you have time. i don't think the folks doing the looting and burning really care about what happened to michael brown or the state of race relations in the us. i think they were just out for self, and to have fun tearing stuff up.

Point taken. Let me rephrase. The folks like Al Sharpton and all the talking heads on CNN etc. trying to find anything they can to make this a racial deal. Again, I'm not saying it isn't but I've yet to see any evidence whatsoever that this is anything different than an altercation between a cop and a guy who it seems just strong armed a guy at a 7-11 over some cigars. The attention this case is getting, based on nothing at all really, is astounding.

and see this is where i think it becomes more about a local issue. it's been apparent from the beginning that something is not right within the ferguson police department. there had to have been a decent amount of longstanding frustration between the ferguson community and their police department. i don't think the last two weeks were over the death of one person, or even the cop being white and mb being black. his death allowed the community to feel justified in saying enough is enough.

and al sharpton is a scumbag, i don't think would ever bother to put my trust in a minister/politician combo (how low can you go) but i also understand that, as pitiful as he is, he gets attention drawn to whatever cause he's pimping and that's probably what brown's parents are desparate for, attention to their son's death.

and all the talking heads speak for themselves..they are chasing their story, not much gets america going like the perceived threat of a race war.

 For the minister/politician comment. No argument there.

Makes sense looking at it through the eyes of the family. Warranted or not, the attention will make sure they get some answers. Hopefully the truth will come out, but I suspect there's going to be unhappy people no matter which way it goes.

I can't help but look at this the same way that I looked at the TM/GZ thing. It seems like there's all this attention being focused on something that so far has no racial component to it. And if it plays out that there was no racial component to it (Which IMO it will) then it seems like all this attention could've been focused on something important that would actually make a difference in the future. Like I said, I don't see anything good coming out of this for anyone except maybe Al and the TV networks.

i don't see much good coming out of it either. for one, mo law is not on brown's side.

the racial component is actually what is working against justice in this case. if the american public were to start investigating and tracking police brutality regardless of race, i don't think we'd give much thought to if the victim listened to rap, smoked weed, or if their family had a cute nick name for them..

the difference i see between michael brown's death and trayvon martin is that trayvon was killed by a mall cop, a big-little man, with a gun and a badge of self importance. michael brown was killed by an actual cop, in a state where all the cop has to say is that he felt threatened. gz got off - i'm sure darren wilson will too.

That's because in the South it was less hidden. I've been to Mississippi and Alabama when I was little. You knew when you didn't belong somewhere. The good ole boy reputation was in full swing.

Man for no blacks to belong in Mississippi or Ala, they sure have a lot of them

you keep saying this. who thinks this?

You didn't see the news coverage did you ?

I use to hang out with this fat chick, who had really big boobs. Great girl. She always had her cleavage showing. I asked her why. She said because men are going to be soo busy staring at her boobs, their eyes will not be focused on her tummy.

there is a strong analogy here .

I was wondering, while riding down the road today. Why do I exchange banter with the people I do. I mean the people I talk to most are a strange collection of view points. Then it hit me.

I talk to people who keep it under a few lines usually.

The keep reading made me think of that

I also think real busy signatures are a distraction

I think that's somewhat funny. Don't be surprised when a few here don't find the humour in it. :reading:

I have found my VJ experience to be a little more enjoyable since shutting off all siggy's. There were a few I liked, like Mavens, but for the most part, they're annoying.
