I've had my 2yr green card for a while now and it expires in Oct 2015 but I've just realized a mistake "/

When I moved to the US I didn't want to loose my maiden name, but as it was double barreled I didn't want it to be even longer with my husbands name. I moved my maiden name to my middle name and took my husbands name.

I've just realized my green card shows my middle initial as my old middle name and their put my last name as a triple barreled name!

It should read Victoria S C******* but it reads Victoria J S******-C**** C*******

Shall I just wait till I have to ROC and then tell them?? My DL & SSN all say Victoria S C*******

Well, in my opinion, yes you should have it fixed. Because you might run into some problems in the future if your name on the card is different from all your other documents.

If I recall correctly, you have to file an I-90 to have it corrected. It's free if it was USCIS fault (clerical). But if it was your mistake, then you have to pay the fee. I've heard the processing varies from 2 months to 5 months and you have to send the card along with other supporting documents. Look it up on the USCIS website for more info. Also, make an infopass appointment so they can give you an I-551 stamp on your passport.

I don't think it matters. Tell them at ROC. Having a hyphenated middle name is unusual and maybe it couldn't be accepted like that.

I also don't think it matters. I don't even follow your example. What are the two C names? The same name or two different names?

Victoria J Smith-Carter Carter?

Victoria J Smith-Cope Carter?

So looking at your I-485, how did you fill it out?

Family name..........Given name...........Middle name

I'm just worried as I'm flying back to the UK later this week to see family and friends :(

Why? You'll use the name on your passport anyway.

Then for entry to the US you show your GC. Bring a copy of your marriage cert to account for the name change.

My name was Victoria(First) Jane(Middle) Sassone-Corsi(Last)

I changed it to Victoria(First) Sassone-Corsi(Middle) Clements(Husbands last name I took at marriage)

So now I am Victoria S Clements but my green card says Victoria J Sassone-Corsi Clements.

So the only thing extra on your greencard is the letter J? But you think USCIS has you down for a triple last name? Make an infopass appointment and ask somebody who actually knows the policy for dropping a middle name. If they made a mistake maybe you can get it changed. If it isn't allowed, they will explain it to you.

I don't think it matters what you go by at the bank or wherever. I have various versions of my first, middle, maiden, and married names on various documents and accounts.

How do you know the hyphenated name is a last name? It could be a second middle name. I think it's fine. It's clearly you.

It's more that the first name shows Victoria J instead of Victoria S and my last name should show as just Clements. I have dropped Jane as my middle name and replaced it with my maiden name...Sassone-Corsi.

It should be fine but I just wondered if I should change it as my SSN, Military ID, Drivers Licence, bank cards etc are all Victoria S Clements.
