Nope, not at all. It was a pleasant getting to know you chat, the IO even offered funny anecdotes about being a mom to a young child. We all had some laughs together. She asked us about our relationship and that was it. I was approved on the spot. I think I witnessed a stokes interview, saw a young couple where each person got pulled in separately a few times. They were behind so we did have a long wait.

Thanks A&B I wasn't worried. I figured if it was essential that I had an answer from you I'd message you directly.

What a pain. Have tried calling in and asking a tier two IO for more information? They told me to make an Infopass appointment if I hit 90 days, which I did. When I went in I was told they misinformed me and that based on the processing times published on their website it would likely be 30-60 more days before they had an appointment for me (take the date posted and count ahead the number of days past when it was updated to give you a very very rough idea of where they are at today). But, she asked an interesting question "do you have a reason for this to be expedited?". I said no, that in fact if they extended it beyond my next anniversary that would be nice so that I could get a 10 year card. She smiled at me and promised that that shouldn't happen (would be almost another year of waiting).

I think the key was I made sure to stay relaxed and friendly and made sure that they didn't feel like I was pressuring her, more that I was following what an IO told me to do. I think that this helped her feel like she wanted to help me.

Anyhow, after that appointment it was just a few days before I got a case update, not 30-60, so it makes me wonder if there is some ability for discretion on cases that the IOs handle timing-wise.

Just some ideas that may help. I'm crossing my fingers for an update soon!

CdnRN,

I think that you have hit on something there. I would also suspect that the IOs do have some discretion/latitude when it comes to handling and time lines. After our AOS interview, the IO was going to string us along for additional time with some lame excuse about only having seen our file 10 minutes before the interview, needing to review, possible RFE, etc.... Yet, an hour or so after dejectedly arriving back at home, my cell phone exploded with six text messages from USCIS, flip/flopping between "approved" to "card in production." My family got their GCs about ten days later. I think the IO we got was in-training and had to get a review by his supervisor, just a guess.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Thank you for responding CdnRN :)

I did give it a try calling and asking for a tier 2 IO. after 20 minutes one called me and looked into my case. Told me that there is nothing left to do but wait. He said that he checked with Seattle to see if they had scheduled me and then after checking told me they had not and that I should just wait.

Based on a couple of people having received their interview letter (including you) I was thinking I should have received mine around the beginning of November or so.

I guess Ill try calling them again next week and see if they are able to tell me anything other than wait.

Interesting A&B. It wouldn't surprise me in the least that there was room to maneuver for IOs. When I looked here: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processingTimesDisplay.dothe date is still far back enough that by that info I shouldn't have an interview yet.

Hopefully things speed up!

I logged into my case last Tuesday and saw a similiar message too! So I went to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice, and got an email from USCIS saying that they will review and process the request, and I can only expect a reply by December 4, 2014..

My understanding is that the first line of person knows no more than what we can see online, more or less. Tier 2 is an IO but not as well trained as those at the field office. I'd make an Infopass appointment, ASAP.

Called a tier 2 today and he told me that its way too early to get a interview and that i won't get one until at least first week of february...

When I called on the 17th, the woman put a request through because it said that if I didn't receive the notice by the end of august, to request it. Today it says that she put the request through and that it was assigned to an officer, and closed on the same day. Now I never got a message about it and when I tried to bring it up today to the tier 2 officer, he didn't even let me ask about it and told me there is no notice, that they have not sent me anything.

When I called a tier 2 officer back a month and a half or so, i got a much nicer officer, so Im tempting to call again and hope that I don't get the same tier 2 officer...

as for the info's appointment, i can't seem to be able to make one online. It gives me 4 choices, and none of the choices apply to me....
