I wish I was... That's 30-60 days until I get notice of an interview.

She wouldn't give me current dates for the I-485 but she said she was interviewing n-400s from late March. The USCIS processing date for n-400 is late feb currently.

Which Washington office are you both waiting on. I was at Tukwila and have had my interview, Spokane & Yakima are also scheduling appointments. My medical files went missing and maybe there is a problem with alot of files so they are trying not to schedule appointments before they track down the right physical files.
I hope you dont have to wait that long.

Tukwila. Yakima has an office? I thought Spokane was the only other WA one...

I can't help but wonder if my infopass appointment hurried things along.

The IO (who was very pleasant) asked me if there was any reason my file should be expedited. I said I was mostly concerned with knowing the status and the location of my file since the tier 2 officer said I should check in person. I joked that if they were wanting to delay my file until after August 10, 2015 that would be nice since that would be my 2 year wedding anniversary and it would be nice not to have to do ROC. She laughed and said she doubted it would be that long.

Then she told me based on where they were at for the I-400s she'd been working on that morning she'd expect my file to get scheduled in 30-60 days more.

She also said they only receive the hard copies they are working on - about a week's worth. Mine was/is still in the initial processing location.

She also said things are slow since ~8 IOs retired this last year.

She did tell me the tier 2 officers, though they are IOs also, they don't receive the same level of training that they do in field offices. She apologized he sent me in.

But then this morning I awoke to a scheduled interview. So I don't know if she was giving me a long window so I wouldn't be inpatient (and makes them look better) or if she decided to help hurry things along.

Either way I'm happy things are progressing! And I'm glad I had the appointment!

Well folks, the processing time on the USCIS website has been updated to March 2, 2014 so we are getting closer to when I filed my paperwork. Still doesn't explain how others here have posted on their timelines more recent dates than that but have had interviews - at our office.

I'm now at day 75 at testing/interview and was told by a tier two officer to make an info pass appointment if I hit 76-80 days at testing/interview... I'll make one later today if nothing happens.

hello! i'm adjusting from a K1 and in seattle too. i just got my interview notice on october 16, the interview date is november 20. it took 3 months to go from 'testing and interview' (july 16, 2014) to actually receiving my interview date. fingers crossed all goes well!

Our family has been become quite acquainted with the DHS office in Tukwila over the last couple of years. Read our AOS interview review from November 2012. We recently had our ROC biometrics appointment there, and are now wondering about a possible ROC interview at that "wonderful" DHS office building. Take cash for the $7 parking.

A&B - what are your thoughts on bringing our USC baby to the Tukwila office? I've already got a sitter lined up but can see benefits (he is great evidence of our bona fide relationship as we are both attentive and engaged parents) and drawbacks to bringing him. I've brought him to my Infopass and biometrics and had no issues.

Your thoughts given your local interview experience?

Our interview is done and we passed! It was relaxed and easy with no issues other than having to wait!
