I did call the cops but I only talked to one on the phone and they suggested me leaving and us going to counselling if I didn't want to press charges on him. I left... and my step daughter and I went to my parent house. I was not trying to get him arrested I just didn't want to be threatened and sleep in the house with someone who just made that threat. They never made a report just talked to me over the phone and gave me advice.

It's my belief that the "cop", be that either a dispatcher or a sworn officer, was in violation of law and department procedure re: your domestic violence 911 call. The dispatcher must relay the call to the patrol officers, who must respond to your call for help even if you tell them you don't want to press charges.

Suggesting you leave your house and go to counseling together is madness. All 911 calls are taped might be evidentiary depending on what transpired. I found this Ohio SOP on handling 911 DV calls.

II.COMMUNICATIONS (DISPATCHER)

A.The dispatcherwho receives a domestic violence call for service can provide theresponding officers with vital information that could save the lives of thevictim(s) and the officer(s). The dispatcher will give a domestic violence call the same priorityas any life threatening call and will, whenever possible, dispatch at least two officersto every incident.

B.In addition to information normally gathered, an effort should be made to determine and relay the following to responding officers:

1.Is suspect present, and ifnot, description and whereabouts

2.Whether weaponsare involved

3.Drug and alcohol influences

4.Children present

5.Protective or restrainingorders

6.History ofresidence

I called the police station not 911. It was a woman who answered and gave me advice but she never sent an officer.

Did you call on the chat line ? How long ago was this latest incident, did you tell the police he threatened to harm you ? Both police 911 and department business lines are recorded. My thinking is if was a recent event, you may be able get some justice and turn the table on him if the tape is discovered...

Good Luck

There's always two sides to every story. Why did you go through with the paperwork AFTER he got married without telling his family? I just don't understand why people plays the victim after the fact. You wanna tell me that you have never suspected anything before he came here?

Why did you even file for his daughter when it's obvious that she doesn't even have a close relationship with her father?

Move on with your life. Don't expect that man to have a change of heart and start treating you better because that will never happen.

Look here... If I knew this man was not about the right things I would not have married him to begin with!! That is common sense!! He doesn't like most of his family so that was no big deal to me but I noticed it ....And as far as the rest of your question just because the way it seems like you are coming about my situation you know little about would be the reason I leave you with this.. There are 3 sides to the story mine, his and the truth. Their would be less people "playing the victim" If people would stop hating their own countries so much that they would do any and everything to leave. Maybe you got this post all wrong but I am not looking for whatever you think you about to bring. Miss me with it... Please and Thank you!

Your post indicated you wanted to know if people think it is marriage fraud (asking for opinions), many here have ansewered that based on your timeline and things you wrote that it does not seem like straight up marriage fraud and you have attacked everyone who did not agree with your view that it was premeditated fraud. Was he a bad and possibly dangerous man and husband and abhorrent father, yes of course.. Did he hide his true nature and put only his best foot forward... Yes,. But proving fraud to uscis is another matter entirely and based on evidence you presented, it will be difficult to prove that. And it is my firm belief that there are signs in people and gut feelings that many times are ignored or overlooked... But To not look within ourselves when something like this happens and to just write it off as a calculated fraudster that we were helpless to recognize is an easy excuse for not learning and growing.

If you wanted only to hear "oh yes girl, he was fraudster and you had no way of ever knowing" then perhaps you should have titled your topic "Marriage Fraud, need people who agree with me, " not asking for opinions, cause you might just get different opinions that don't agree with you.

I do hope that you are able to get and keep safe, move forward with your life, help that young lady with hers and not be overwhelmed by revenge or hatred and find real love... We always learn more about ourselves when a relationship ends than we ever do about the other person...

So flame away cause I did not agree with you... But I still wish you luck...
