Alright, I guess I could have posted this in the Sultan's kitchen but I want to see pictures and I thought it would be great if everyone posted some. Dinner, lunch, breakfast or whatever food you're eating.

What I made for dinner isn't exactly what I would consider a MENA food, but... whatever. :P

It's onion, garlic, green bell pepper, black beans, tomatoes, green chiles, potato.

I ate too much and I'm soooooo full!!!!

But it was really good.

:D

Allah tries his chosen people through many hardships, but those who persevere through adversity, surrendering themselves before the will of Allah, shall be blessed with a superb reward.

-The Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as reported by Anas bin Malik

A time will come when the sky is torn apart; when the stars scatter, and the ocean drains away; and when the graves are tossed about, and laid open. At that time every man will be told what he has done, and what he has failed to do; and every woman will be told what she has done, and what she has failed to do.

How do you make your grilled cheese? When I ate meat, I used to get grilled cheese and ham and they put mustard on it. After I stopped eating meat, I kept the mustard and I can't imagine eating a grilled cheese without it now.

No mustard!

I butter one side of each slice of bread first, then put two slices of land-o-lakes white in between and just fry it up. Sometimes I just go with my wild side and stick a slice of tomato inbetween the cheese slices, but I was pretty tame tonight.

:( Now I wish I'd taken pics of the feast I prepared for friends on Friday: Persian rice & lentils with a tadeeg, tagine Zrodiya, spanakopita, dolmas, M'hencha, etc.

Are foreigners allowed in the Sultan's Kitchen? I have few good recipes to share.

I don't see why anyone can't post. I know that I love to try all kinds of new recipes. :)

And certainly what you made the other night would have fit right in.

LOL that is how I make mine, on 2 pieces of sourdough or whole wheat farm bread.

We ate stuffed flank steak with mashed potatoes last night, sorry no picture. It is all gone! But it was yummy!

That;s so funny! We had left over pot roast and gravy (made in crock pot) and I made some mashed potatoes to go with it. We also had green beans.

Tonight I am making a noodle casserole. You cook some penne pasta (I use the whole wheat kind). While that's cooking, you brown some ground beef and chopped onions (you have to season it really well). Drain the excess grease off of the beef. Then you warm up some corn and green beans (already cooked). You take a can of either Ranchero soup or cheddar cheese soup and mix everything together with some grated cheese, seasn it to your liking, and cook until hot all the way through. It lasts us through several meals and it's pretty quick and easy.
