After close to 5 months since application, my husband and I finally got our biometrics letter yesterday, mine scheduled for Nov. 13 (2PM) and his the next day. I have something else for 2.30pm that day so I intend to do a walk-in (probably on Monday, Nov 3). For those that have done walk-ins, were you asked the reason for doing walk-in and if yes, did you have to provide proof. Thank you.

I and my family did a walk in in Atlanta both times ie for green card and N400. Both times no questions were asked and was in and out in less then 15 minutes.

It was easy to do a walk-in at ATL, just make sure you have your bio letter with you.. They never asked the reason for doing walk-in and hence no evidence was needed. Took 20min in & out.

Went in for a FP walk-in this morning. Got there around 8.30am, the security man checked our IDs and appointment letters and wrote WI on our letter and told us to stand aside with some other group of people we met at the entrance. He then told us to write our names on a sheet titled walk-in's. In the mean time, he was checking in those that had appointments for today. After waiting at the entrance for about 20 mins, he called in one of us walk-in's with the regular appointments people. 5 minutes later, a much nicer security came to check in people and asked why we were put aside and we told him walk-in, he just smiled and he also recognized my husband from the time he went for FP to get a UK visa. The new security just re-checked us all in. From the time we got there to when we left was about 1 hr. I guess the delay was probably due to the fact that a lot of people were there for today's appointment.

Anyway, I am glad this part is over. Now the wait begins for the interview letter, I hope I wont have to wait another 4-5 months for that.

Hey guys, I am trying to make an infopass appointment right now but what option should I pick if I want to go there in person? It seems like no option fits my inquiry, the only close option I see here is case services follow up appointment but it says if it has been 45 days since you contacted NCSC and have not received a response to your inquiry, is this mean I have to call NCSC first and wait for 45days again?

For me it was over 45 days because I had been calling concerning the same issue for more than 3 months. I think you should just choose that option, they will not ask for confirmation from you. In the mean time, try to call USCIS again and speak with a 2nd tier officer (they will not want to transfer you but you have to insist or just tell them you already have a case pending with a 2nd tier officer and they told you to call back to speak with them again, or tell them you were speaking with one already and the line cut off and you were calling back). If you get transferred to a 2nd tier officer, he will be able to tell you what exactly is going on with your case. You can then decide if you need to go on with the info pass appointment or not but schedule the appointment now if you have not already done so. Good luck!!

Hi we figured it out how to click the right option last night and I have my appointment set 2weeks from now to speak with the Immigration officer, not so sure if this will piss them off I don't want them to think I am very impatient but reading some of other people comment had their appointment and oath taking already done especially April,May filers had their interview done it makes me nervous and impatient

I agree with Tosun2014 sometimes you need to do whatever it takes to get to the 2nd tier officer or get an infopass.. When my bio letter was lost in the mail I never received the right answer from the 800 number or emails I sent, until I went there in person which forced them to look at my case.

He is definitely allowed to go in to the waiting area, and I believe they should let him come with you to the window when they call your number. When we went to our infopass appointment my wife didn't try to come with me to the window so I'm not really sure.

By the way, you don't have to be on hold for that long, there is a call back option which I have used all the time and that is one thing I know that really works with them. You get a call back usually in less than an hour, only that you still need to be near your phone so you don't miss the call. This is just in case you have to call them again.
