Wow! See this makes me really sad because everytime we called USCIS the responds we got the applications are being processed by dates of your application!

Generally speaking, this is true. Most people who apply at a given field office in April will be interviewed before most people who apply in May. However, there seem to be many exceptions, mix-ups, and delays, which is why you have to follow up with them in person. A heavily back logged office like Atlanta is mire likely to have exceptions or make mistakes (they could have simply out your file in the wrong pile and forgot about it).

My problem about going there in person at Atlanta office we are 4hrs and half away from Atlanta office and that sucks and I can't just go there anytime I want too because I need to consider my husband work schedule too, what do I need to take with me if ever we decided just to go at their office in person in order for them to accommodate me?

Early September we asked to expedite my application and the respond we got from them is you will be notified by mail when further action has been taken on your case and it's been almost 2 months now since we got their respond back about the request and it worry me a lil bit I hope if ever they send some kind of letter again our mailman didn't put it in different mailbox and loss it?

I am one of those exceptions, applied June 5, got yellow letter around Aug. 1 but no biometrics. Called customer service and placed a service request twice, third time I was told I did not need biometrics even though I told the rep that the last time I had biometrics was 2009. I finally got to speak with a tier 2 officer who told me I was scheduled for biometrics July 11 but I never got any letter (same thing with my husband). I had a request for a new biometrics appointment made for me, this was Oct 6. I called again to speak with a tier 2 officer Oct 17 when I did not get any letter and was told they were still working on it. I finally scheduled an Info Pass appointment and went in this morning only to be told that I have been rescheduled for Nov 13 (more 5 months after application) and my husband Nov 14 and That I should go and wait for the letter. I am so pissed right now . I hope I get a letter this time around.

You will need to schedule an info pass appointment first online and print the confirmation page. Then you go for the appointment with the printed page, state issued ID preferably your green card (because they asked for mine there) and all the mails you have received since you started the application.

Thanks, I went to Atlanta office (I am lucky I stay about 10 miles from the office) and yes I went with the info pass letter and state issued IDs. The first time I tried scheduling info pass, I could not get any dates and gave up and frustration made me try again much later before I got dates to choose from so don't make my mistakes, if you don't get any dates, keep trying again. I waited too long to retry.

Just wondering About this info pass rules my application is in Atlanta office but we are close to Memphis Tennessee USCIS office do u think I can go to Memphis and they can answer my questions there even though they don't have my application there or Do I need to go to Atlanta where my applicatio is?

You need to make an Infopass appointment through the USCIS website.

If you just show up, they may not let you in the building.

All you can do, is ask why it's taking so long.

In most cases, you won't get a direct answer, but just the fact that you've spoken to someone sometimes forces them to look for your file and that can get the process moving again.

You can also call and make a service request, but someone else will have to tell you how to do that.

I don't know for sure but I would think that since your application and files are in Atlanta office, you will have to go there although everything seem computerized and can be accessed anywhere.
