Congratulation !!! I am so happy for you as your immigration Journey is coming to an end soon .I also hope you get your Oath appointment soon . Please can you provide some details in regard of the interview ? If you did not have a name change was it a chance that you will have scheduled same day oath ? Thanks and congrats again . :dancing::dancing:

Thanks!

My interview was scheduled at 9:55am. I checked-in at 9:20am at the reception, received my ticket, and was directed to go to the third floor waiting area. They were at approx. ticket no. 32 when I got there and my no. was 62. I did not have my phone with me as I thought I wouldn't be allowed to bring it through security, but others did. I sat patiently and watched CNN for 90min or so :)

I was called at around 10:55am. We entered the officer's office, shut the door, and I was placed under oath. Then the officer asked for my notice letter, my passport & green card. I don't think he even looked at my passport. The officer then asked if my wife was with me, and I said she was not. I wasn't sure why he asked that question. He then asked how long we've been married and whether we have kids. Then I signed my photos, read 1 sentence, wrote one sentence, answered 6 civics questions, and went through select items on my N400. I signed three sheets related to my name change. Then I signed the N400 application and the officer gave me a piece of paper showing that I passed the civics test. The officer then said that all went well and I should expect my oath letter in the mail. I asked him what would be different due to having the name change, and he said that my ceremony will be conducted at the court, which will be explained in the oath letter. We shook hands and I left. The interview & test took approx. 15 min.

I'm not sure whether they were doing same day oath ceremonies.

On 3/3 I received on email that I got placed in line for Oath Ceremony! Almost there :)

I have to do a court ceremony because of my name change, and I doubt I'll make the 3/13 date... We'll see but right now I'm betting on 4/10!

  • March 13, 2015 - Ceremony to take place in the Rome Division
  • April 10, 2015
  • May 15, 2015 - Ceremony to take place in the Gainesville Division

Forgot to ask, should I expect another update that an oath was scheduled, or just wait for the oath letter/notice?

Good Morning , My wife had her interview today and she passed it . Then she signed behind her pictures , N400 as well as another congratulation paper . But IO gave her a paper civic test was checked passed but below a DECISION CANNOT BE MADE AT THIS TIME . An idea as to what may have trigger of not reaching a decision please?

Interview recap

1. Why the colonist came to US

2. What is border of Canada

3.What ocean on East coast

4. Who is the president

5.National anthem

Written question was

Who was 1st president .

Interview was easy and her citizenship was based on 3 year marriage . Both were married before and both of our marriage were nulled .

Any input will be greatly appreciated .

Thanks

Congrats! Usually after the interviews (if you pass), you are recommended for approval pending supervisory review..it's pretty much a normal routine to have everything check out before getting a final approval! Hopefully you should receive an update soon..probably being placed inline for oath. Be glad you are almost done with this process :)
